The purpose of this study was to compare the anthropometric measurement to the professional players of the three different disciplines of basketball, handball and volleyball. . For each player anthropometric measurements such as weight, body height, waist circumference, BMI and skinfold calculation on different sports are performed. Differences in terms of anthropometric measurements were assessed by independent static tests and the differences for each variable for each sport were evaluated with the ANOVA method with the Post Hoc test. As a conclusion in this study, the results of this study showed that the anthropometric measurements of professional players of the three main sports varied among them, while there were no significant differences between sports for the measurement of biceps and suprailliac fat. According to this study, sports have different demands on anthropometric attributes, which are specific to each professional player of three basketball, volleyball and handball sports. Therefore, for this variety of outcomes, coaches need to create training programs according to the sport's specifications and every sportsman in the field.

PCOS is one of the most common endocrinal disorders among women, affecting 5-10% of women at reproductive age (Franks, 1995). The total sample of the Assamese experimental group is 172 whereas the Assamese controlled group is 228. The present study is based on samples mainly drawn on the opportunity sampling technique from the patients coming to the Pratiksha Hospital of Guwahati city for treatment of PCOS. Whenever patients are entered into the role of the Hospital as having PCOS is included in the sample. The present study reveals that this disease is not new but has been gaining importance as more and more patients have been diagnosed as PCOS with the lapse of time. Biologically, it is concluded by other researchers that ‘insulin resistance’ is the main cause of this disease. Once the body becomes insulin resistant it becomes difficult to breakdown carbohydrates. Thus, deposition of fats as well as it is also difficult to lose the deposited fats.  It is also seen in the present study that infertility is also one of the symptoms of PCOS and the Quality-of-life (QoL) of the PCOS populations is different in comparison to the controlled population.

A B S T R A C T Childhood obesity is increasing globally, and Poland is no exception. Studies indicate that relationship between obesity and psychological well-being is a complex issue and this needs further research. The objective of the present cross sectional study was to analyze the relationship between some temperament components and fatness among children in two developmental periods, approximately before and after adolescence. Participants included 122 children aged 11 years (57 boys and 65 girls), and 153 adolescents aged 17 years (64 boys and 89 girls) from 6 primary and 4 secondary schools in Wrocław, Poland. Height, weight, triceps-, subscapular and abdominal skinfold thicknesses were measured. Temperament was assessed by a questionnaire of Buss and Plomin (1984) in two versions: EAS-C for children completed by parents and EAS-D for youth and adults. Physical activity (PAL) was also assessed by a questionnaire. Mean, median and standard deviation (SD) were calculated and Student's t tests were performed to test for significance of differences between groups. Chi squared (χ 2) statistic was used to test the significance of differences in frequencies. Analyses of covariance (ANCOVA) were performed to show the effect of the social-psychological factors on fatness. Controlling for socioeconomic status and physical activity level, activity, as a component of temperament had a significant effect on body fatness. The only component of temperament, which significantly influenced level of fatness in girls, was emotionality. These relationships differed according to sex and the two age groups concerned.
