An assessment of radiofrequency exposure due to GSM 900 and GSM 1800 was carried out at 30 strategic locations in the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan with a frequency selective spectrum analyzer (SPECTRAN HF 60105). The Spectrum analyzer was coupled to a calibrated Omnidirectional antenna to obtain a spatial power density for each location. The mean power densities of 38.37μW/m2 and 8.68μW/m2 and maximum power densities of 212.40μW/m2 and 7.40μW/m2 were obtained for GSM 900 and GSM 1800 respectively. The standard deviation of 51.3 μW/m2 and 14.90μW/m2 were also obtained for GSM 900 and GSM 1800 respectively. GSM 900 and GSM 1800 respectively show compliance level of 0.0047% and 0.00075% with the ICNIRP reference level.

Frequency management is the main thing which is considered by the Sound Engineer in the process of mixing and sound system setting. Poor frequency management will result in the occurrence of signal frequency collisions, better known as feedback. Based on the background of the problem, this study aims to implement the Fast Hartley Transform Algorithm on a spectrum analyzer based on the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller to help sound engineers perform magnitude and frequency management in the frequency range of 20-18,000Hz. Frequency range data obtained from observations where the lowest frequency (20Hz) comes from the bass drum, and the highest frequency (18,000Hz) comes from the cymbal. The results obtained from the test show that the Arduino-based spectrum analyzer is capable of reading the dominant magnitude at each sample frequency used, namely frequencies of 1.500Hz, 6,000Hz, 12,000Hz, and 15,000Hz with 70db sound intensity with the largest deviation of 0.8db at 6,000Hz.

Nowadays spectrum analyzers permit to achieve relatively simple real time data processing of the input signal. In the near future complex mathematical routines shall be more and more easily implemented using the numerical processing capabilities incorporated into the modern instrument architectures. In this work is demonstrated that the detection and measurement accuracy of the amplitude of a weak signal in the equivalent noise at the input of a spectrum analyzer can be dramatically enhanced employing signal processing techniques. The feasibility of the signal amplitude estimation method is experimentally demonstrated through an application to real world data.

We describe a method for measuring plasma cholinesterase (EC 3.1.1.8) and dibucaine and fluoride numbers by using the Cobas-Bio. Benzoyl choline chloride is used as substrate. Reaction conditions are the same as in the corresponding manual method. The reaction is stopped with physostigmine. Choline oxidase (EC 1.1.3.17) is coupled with 4-aminoantipyrene. In the presence of peroxidase (EC 1.11.1.7), the 2-hydroxy-3,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonate indicator reaction gives a red product, measured at 505 nm. The analyzer is used in the "Multi Run" mode, with plasma cholinesterase and dibucaine and fluoride inhibition concurrently measured for eight samples. Coefficients of correlation between the manual and present method for plasma cholinesterase and dibucaine and fluoride numbers in 40 patients of various phenotypes were 0.843, 0.923, and 0.717, respectively. The inter-batch CV for each of the three assays was 2% to 3%.

ABSTRACT The FFT is an important core to which we couple an M-path partitioned filter and commutator to build high performance spectrum analyzers and channelized transmitters and receivers. With slight modifications of the system the channelizer and spectrum analyzer can perform secondary processing tasks such as arbitrary sample rate changes. Output sample rates can be adjusted to be a multiple of channel spacing or a multiple of the channel symbol rate. With minor additional processing the channelizer can also coherently combine signals from adjacent frequency bands to synthesize arbitrary bandwidth super channels from standard prototype channels.
