En el presente artículo se pretende determinar las principales convenciones representacionales que gobiernan el sistema iconogáfico de la litoescultura Tiwanaku, especificando las diferentes formas de interrelación y combinación entre sus diversos componentes. En base a ello, se elabora una secuencia estilística de sus principales obras escultóricas como una herramienta de trabajo para acercarse a las formas políticas desarrolladas entre el Estado altiplánico y otras entidades culturales de los Andes Centro Sur.
This paper attempts to determine the main representational conventions that rule the iconographic system of Tiwanaku's lithosculpture, specifying the different interrelation and combination forms of its various components. On this basis, a stylistic sequence of its main sculptures is built, as a means to approach the political forms developed between the Altiplanic State and other cultural entities of South-Central Andes.
