Anommatocoris coibensis sp. nov. (Heteroptera: Tingidae) is described from Coiba Island National Park (Panama) on the basis of 14 adults and two nymphs. Scanning electron and optical photomicrographs and drawings are provided to illustrate most relevant morphological characters of adults and nymphs. Differences and similarities are analyzed with respect to the other four known species of the genus.

In the present contribution, three new species of the genus Corythaica from Argentina are described and illustrated: C. dellapei, C. leprosa and C. saltensis. Corythaica passiflorae is raised from synonymy with C. cyathicollis, and the identity of these species and C. monacha are discussed. An updated key to the Argentinean species of the genus is provided together with distributional maps and new records from Argentina.
A revision of the Cantacaderinae of austral southern South America (Argentina and Chile) is provided with redescriptions of the species, photographs of habitus, key and new distributional records. This is the first time a Cantacaderini is... more

The OLBIE project focused on Corythucha arcuata (oak lace bug, OLB) (Heteroptera: Tingidae) an invasive Hemiptera introduced from its native range in North America into Europe, and which was first detected in Europe in Italy in 2000. Since its accidental introduction it has spread rapidly over a wide geographical area and is now found in over a dozen other European countries. In some countries, such as Hungary and Croatia its population has reached substantial levels where there is now serious concern that the pest may have significant impacts on oak health, as well as potentially increasing the susceptibility of oaks to other pests and diseases. There is very limited published information on this particular insect species. Within its natural range in North America it is generally regarded as a nuisance pest, causing only incidental damage, although dense populations can cause premature leaf fall. Within Europe there is considerable variation in its reported imp...

A nymph of Thaumamannia Drake & Davis, 1960, a rare vianaidine genus known only from adults, is described by the first time. The specimens were collected in the soil and walls of caves located in the state of Pará, Brazil. This is the first record of Vianaidinae for Brazil. The T. vanderdrifti fifth instar is compared with the same stadium of Anommatocoris coleopteratus (Kormilev, 1955), the only other vianaidine nymph described so far, and patterns between them and within the family are also discussed.
The first record of Corythauma ayyari (Drake, 1933) for Egypt is reported. Information on the known distribution of this invasive species in the Mediterranean Region is summarized and discussed.
The first record of Corythauma ayyari for Monaco is reported. Information on the known distribution of the species, especially in the Mediterranean Region, is summarized. Jasminum azoricum is reported as a new host plant of C. ayyari.
