Transendentalism

В сборнике материалов представлены тезисы и тексты докладов 7-го ежегодного московского международного семинара «Трансцендентальный поворот в современной философии: эпистемология, когнитивистика и искусственный интеллект», посвященного связи и влиянию трансцендентализма на современную эпистемологию, когнитивные науки и на исследования в области искусственного интеллекта. Данная проблематика рассматривается в рамках современного кантовского трансцендентализма, неокантианства (пост–неокантианства), трансцендентальной феноменологии и исследований рефлексивных процессов. Издание ориентировано на исследователей, интересующихся разработками в области истории философии, эпистемологии, феноменологии, когнитивистики и искусственного интеллекта.

My talk (paper) is devoted to geometric thinking of Kant's transcendentalism (as transcendental idealism). I analyze the structure of Kant's Copernican revolution (turn) as a way of solving the semantic problem of the relation our [human] representation to the objects and argue that Kantian transcendental philosophy is not [material] idealism. The specificity of Kant's way of thinking (as «the new method of thought» [CPR, BXVIII]) is based on the 'geometric logic' (resp. intuitionistic logic).

Presented in the " Critique of Pure Reason " transcendental philosophy is the first theory of science, which seeks to identify and study the conditions of the possibility of cognition. Thus, Kant carries out a shift to the study of 'mode of our cognition' and TP is a method, where transcendental argumentation acts as its essential basis. The article is devoted to the analysis of the transcendental arguments. In § 2 the background of ТА — transcendental method of Antiquity and Leibniz's Principle of Sufficient Reason — are analyzed and their comparison with ТА is given. § 3 is devoted to the analysis of TA in the broad and narrow senses; a formal propositional and presupposition models are proposed. In § 4 I discuss the difference between TA and metaphysics' modes of reasoning. It analyzes the Kant's main limitations of the use TA shows its connection with the Modern Age and contemporary science.

An introductory speculation, Ways of Being: The Spectator and the Spectacle is a consideration of the epistemological, ontological and metaphysical downfalls of film theory’s understandings of the spectator and the spectacle; with particular emphasis directed towards the neurobiological implications of the spectator’s body.

The thesis will argue that these shortcomings are representative of wider ranging issues of complacency engulfing the film industry and film exhibition as a whole. Furthermore, the fundamental disruptions of the digital upgrade of cinema, and the expanding means through which film content can be experienced, will be explored in relation to the pressing need for film theory to reassess itself.

Drawing on a plethora of empirical and non-empirical research, this dissertation is a highly progressive expression of how film experience has always been about transcendence and, as a result of its digital re-birth and diversifications, it is now becoming even more so.
