(= On the investigation of Turkic loanwords in a Ukrainian and Carpathian context) Interestingly enough, Ukrainian reflexes of Turkic words are only seldom adduced in publications concerning the Turkic influence on Slavic. This author’s thesis is that Ukrainian philologists have never presented arguments to showcase the particular importance of Ukrainian data in the understanding of linguistic contacts between the Carpathian area and the Turkic world. This study discusses some such examples of varying significance.
