Story
If God can take David - the invisible eighth son of a forgotten family - and turn him into a king, just imagine what magnificent plans He has for redeeming your life. David was born a number eight - a hidden gem, often overlooked and undervalued by everyone except for God. For David, being a number eight seemed like a curse until the day God transformed him from the unknown eighth son of Jesse into the much-honored king of Israel. Even when you're an underdog in the eyes of the world, God is working behind the scenes to develop you into a king or queen.

Some parts were good, certainly the first half and perhaps original ideas but as it progressed it was more like throwing some ideas together that were not logical or possible.

When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Classic but disturbing

Read this in high school then 20 years later watched the tv series which is awesome so I thought I should read the book again. Narrater is great but story is too disturbing for me to recommend to anyone. Hollywood made a crappy story great - normally it is an awesome story made average by Hollywood.
I hope this helps.

Some great stories & info on Australian Outback
Reviewed: 09-11-2021
Great stories and great accent and pace by reader.
Only fault is book could have been 2/3 the length and just as enjoyable as sometimes details and facts overwhelmed. No regrets in getting this book as it inspires, tells you about hero’s and informs you of Australian great outback people with some great info on how the wonderful native aboriginal people lived on the land and through working on the stations.

Gripping Character. Listened while I read!
Reviewed: 11-03-2021
The previous review said it is better than GoT but this isn’t about threading many story lines together to a climatic end but rather a symphony of character and beliefs developed with a story unfolding.
Narrator is Scottish to which I love all English, Scottish, Welsh & Irish narrators so I am bias to that thus the 5/5 for narration. Story is a 4.5 but the iphone struggles to allow this this the 4/5 noted above.
I also tried something new here by reading along whilst listening to the narrator - made it truly absorbing!

Was first published in 1988 so I was surprised at some of the refreshing, inspiring ideas and concepts coming out through the book. I actually read along with the physical book as the audiobook played - found it kept my mind on track and improved my reading! I look forward to reading another one of his books!
