Story
This course addresses some of the eternal questions that man has grappled with since the beginning of time. What is good? What is bad? Why is justice important? Why is it better to be good and just than it is to be bad and unjust? Most human beings have the faculty to discern between right and wrong, good and bad behavior, and to make judgments over what is just and what is unjust. But why are ethics important to us?

A timeless course
Reviewed: 12-10-2024
This is the third time I have listened to this course, in many years since I bought it. It improves my life. It never disappoints, and I enjoy it more with every listen. This was also the first time I 'met' professor Peter Kreeft. I have since purchased many of his books and courses, and he has become one of my favorite teachers of ethics, philosophy, morality and religion.

I enjoyed listening to this book very much. It was exactly what I needed as someone relatively new to Catholicism. Bishop Robert Barron has a very soothing calm voice and in addition to inspiring, educating and giving me ideas for prayer, listening to the book also helped rise above the minutia of the day, and focus on the most important things. Listening in the evening before bed improved my sleep too. I will be listening to this book again.

Story
A movement called ‘deconstruction’ is sweeping through our churches and it is affecting our loved ones. It has disrupted, dismantled, and destroyed the faith of so many, and this book can help you not only understand what’s happening but also stand your ground and respond with clarity and confidence. In this seminal book, Alisa Childers, author of Another Gospel?, and Tim Barnett, creator of Red Pen Logic, will help you understand what deconstruction is, where it comes from, why it is compelling to some, and how it disorients the lives of so many.

I really enjoyed this book. Even though I'm Catholic and not evangelical, and don't know anyone going through deconstruction right now, I definitely think it is useful to know these things for when my kids grow old enough to potentially question their faith, so I can help them. The chapters on the nature of faith, on doubt and on questioning were my favorite. I highly recommend this book.

The award-winning political theorist Yoram Hazony argues that the best hope for Western democracy is a return to the empiricist, religious, and nationalist traditions of America and Britain—the conservative traditions that brought greatness to the English-speaking nations and became the model for national freedom for the entire world. Conservatism: A Rediscovery explains how Anglo-American conservatism became a distinctive alternative to divine-right monarchy, Puritan theocracy, and liberal revolution.

I loved this book. It was my second by this author, the first one was a great book on Nationalism. This book was truly eye opening and made me seriously rethink my stance on conservatism, liberalism and libertarianism. I have read this book 1 year ago and since then I have been researching more (and soul searching). I'm happy to say that I have been moving steadily away from my previous anarcho-libertarianist worldview and towards a conservative one. I now see why LV Mises recommended libertarians to be more conservative, and conservatives to be more libertarian. Highly recommend!

The lecturer is very engaging and knowledgeable, especially impressive is his knowledge of Hebrew, the origins of words and the differences between translations. I would love to hear more lectures by him.
