4.75/5 stars.

if you’re in the mood for a crime fiction that doesn’t focus so much on the graphic violence while still feeling real & heavy, then “Notes on an Execution” by Danya Kukafka.

the characters are very well crafted & each person feels so real even if they are not lovable characters. overall, it’s one of the very few crime novels I’ve read that feel like what knowing someone you care about is capable of such cruelty feels like.

I went into this not liking Mariah-As-a-Public-Person and came out a fan, tbh. I misunderstood a lot of her communication style but once I got used to it/recognized her subtle humor for what it was, i became more than a fan of “just these two specific albums but that’s it,” & actually went through the entire discography on Apple Music (yes, all!) & can now officially count myself in on Camp Mariah, tbh.

I still want a Hello Kitty themed bathroom like she had, too!

I had read Good Omens ten years ago but honestly the full cast brought such life to the book that it’s officially my preferred way to reread it! 5/5 stars!

honestly
stop what you’re doing rn
hop onto where you get audiobooks
and buy Kal Penn‘s memoir

the only BUY THIS poem I’ll ever do 😂 truly it’s a fantastic memoir, especially if you need truly excellent comedy bc life is not great - it’s probably the funniest book I’ve read in a while which I desperately needed at this present time!
thanks, mom, for probably my favorite birthday gift this year (I’m assuming and early in saying that but whatever, I really needed the laughs I’m currently enjoying 🤷🏼‍♀️)

I did figure out the ending before it was even half finished, including the “big shocking twist,” but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book & had a lot of fun reading it. The characters are well crafted & even though they are at times infuriating, you still want to know how this is going to end for them, even if you figure out the twist & ending way in advance!

I hadn’t yet tried the audiobook format of this book but it has been a long time favorite of mine and I am very happy to say the audiobook is also just as lovely (if not more as it’s a great pick to put on while cooking for others!). I’m definitely happy I made the choice to buy this book in a third format after also purchasing both the ebook and physical book.

I honestly haven’t been able to get into most Star Trek novels but this one was great! Exactly like an episode of the show & with Deanna Troi & Beverly Crusher w Worf taking the lead - and those are three of my favorite characters, too! 5/5 stars, can’t wait for more gems like this with someone who truly understands the characters and universe!

Tricia Levenseller has never done me wrong with any of her books - each is as fun and enjoyable and as much of a reality break as the last and oh, she did such a great job writing these characters! 5/5 stars, can’t wait for her next book.

Using the Bible as a primary source for a secular course? No, thanks; I had enough of that brainwashing for over thirteen years to know when I’m being told things the “historian” expects to not be questioned on just because they have a degree.
