Publisher's summary
"Bobby called. He's coming to California. He wants to see me."
Drawing on secret police files, Marilyn Monroe's private diary, and never before published first-hand testimony, this book proves that Robert Kennedy was directly responsible for her death. It details the legendary star's tumultuous personal involvement with him and his brother, President John Kennedy, and how they sought to silence her.
The new evidence and testimony is provided by Mike Rothmiller who, as a detective of the Organized Crime Intelligence Division (OCID) of the LAPD, had direct personal access to hundreds of secret LAPD files on exactly what happened at Marilyn Monroe's Californian home on August 5, 1962.
Rothmiller used that secret information to get to the heart of the matter, to the people who were there the night Marilyn died—two of whom played major roles in the cover-up—and the wider conspiracy to protect the Kennedys at all costs.
There will be those with doubts, but to them, the lawman—who directed international intelligence operations targeting organized crime—says the printed, forensic and oral evidence are totally convincing.

Story
Lyndon Baines Johnson was a man of great ambition and enormous greed, both of which, in 1963, would threaten to destroy him. In the end, President Johnson would use power from his personal connections in Texas and from the underworld and from the government to escape an untimely end in politics and to seize even greater power. President Johnson, the thirty-sixth president of the United States, was the driving force behind a conspiracy to murder President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. In The Man Who Killed Kennedy, you will find out how and why he did it. Political consultant, strategist, and Libertarian Roger Stone has gathered documents and used his firsthand knowledge to construct the ultimate tome to prove that LBJ was not only involved in JFK's assassination, but was in fact the mastermind. With 2013 being the fiftieth anniversary of JFK's assassination, this is the perfect time for The Man Who Killed Kennedy to be available to readers. The research and information in this book is unprecedented, and as Roger Stone lived through it, he's the perfect person to bring it to everyone's attention.

Pringle, who’d long done battle with USC and its almost impenetrable culture of silence, knew reporting the story wouldn’t be a walk in the park. One of the first steps of that mission was to uncover who had killed Sergei and profited from the $230 million corruption scheme that he had exposed. As Browder and his team tracked the money that flowed out of Russia—through the Baltics and Cyprus and on to Western Europe and the Americas—they discovered that Vladimir Putin himself was one of the beneficiaries of the crime.

Story
Marilyn Monroe, born to deprivation and a series of foster homes, became an acting legend of the 20th century. She married famous men, Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller, and her many lovers included President John F. Kennedy. Her death, at 36, is a mystery that remains unsolved to this day. Anthony Summers interviewed 600 people for this book, which reveals unknown truths, some funny, some very sad, about this brilliant but troubled woman. First to gain access to the files of Monroe's last psychiatrist, he throws light on Monroe's troubled psyche.

Focusing for the first time on why attorney general Robert F. Kennedy wasn’t killed in 1963 instead of on why President John F. Kennedy was, Mark Shaw offers a stunning and provocative assassination theory that leads directly to the family patriarch, Joseph P. Kennedy. Mining fresh information and more than 40 new interviews, Shaw weaves a spellbinding narrative involving Mafia don Carlos Marcello; Jack Ruby (Lee Harvey Oswald’s killer); Ruby’s attorney, Melvin Belli; and, ultimately, the Kennedy brothers and their father.

Charles Casillo studies Monroe’s life through the context of her times - in the days before feminism. Before there was adequate treatment for bipolar disorder. Starting with her abusive childhood, this biography exposes how - in spite of her fractured psyche - Marilyn managed to transform each celebrated love affair and each tragedy into another step in her journey towards immortality. Casillo fully explores the last two years of her life, including her involvement with both John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert, and the mystery of her last day.

Story
A Lie Too Big to Fail asserts the idea that a government can never investigate itself in a crime of this magnitude. Was the convicted Sirhan Sirhan a willing participant? Or was he a mind-controlled assassin? It has fallen to independent researchers like Pease to lay out the evidence in a clear and concise manner, allowing listeners to form their theories about this event. Pease places the history of this event in the context of the era and provides shocking overlaps between other high-profile murders and attempted murders of the time.

But legal action was threatened by LBJ associates, leading to the banning of further sales or broadcasting of the program. Bombshell IS a Bombshell
I have read Mark Shaw’s version of events, as told by the men who claimed responsibility…and Bobby Kennedy and Peter Lawford were “in attendance,” but this pins responsibility squarely on Robert Kennedy. We reap what we sow.

We’ll done
The Kennedy’s both father and sons were protected by their money and dubious friends. None of them had any regard for ethics . All of them killed to protect the public image. More than a few eye opening facts here. JFK was planning to send more troops to Vietnam , 10 shots at Bobby from a six shot revolver. Smoke clouds and BS continues to this day.

Interesting
The sources appear reliable. If it really happened the way they said then a mystery has been solved. On the other hand, it doesn’t really pass the Occam’s Razor test. It’s up to the reader to decide what to believe.
I found the first half of the book rather boring but in the second half, all the dirt was spilled and it got very interesting.
The stuff about Daryl Gates spying on the rich and famous is fact. I remember the scandal from my days in So Cal and I’m sure you can access it on the internet.
The narrator had a rather insinuating, thrilling type voice and I had to get used to it. Whatever it was about it just made me less inclined to believe what I was hearing.

Murder of the Phenix
Murdered. MM was more experienced w life & Hollywood at 36. More experienced w ups & downs & disappointment in men & career. She had won back on top looking forward to her next projects bouncing back as a Phenix does. I feel entities that wished to harm, ruin, embarrass the Kennedy Brothers (or, even entities who wanted to protect them & the positions they held) were at work in her Murder. I think she knew the brothers reputation w the many other Hollywood Women & knew this was just a fling. Peter Lawford was an unfortunate Drunk. His last wife said you couldn’t believe anything he said regarding Marilyn.. Reveal of hidden police observations & diary were interesting.

Interesting, But ...
This is an interesting book and it provides a pretty convincing chronicle of the tawdry lives led in Hollywood in the 1950s and 1960s. It also provides a decent biography of Marilyn.
The most important part of the book is about the L.A. police. Why were they using resources to profile, well, just about everyone, and why were they operating outside of L.A.? The FBI is once again shown to be corrupt. Frankly, it's all pretty outrageous if even half of what is reported is true.
The author convinced me that the Kennedys were hardly the good family men portrayed in the media at the time. They were cads. One can only wonder how they had the time for all the filandering. They were protected by a fawning press that never seems to do its job.
Did Bobby kill Marilyn? To me, the story is not convincing. He may have had some involvement, but there really is not much here beyond the hearsay story of an aging alcoholic.
The book also meanders in places and could definitely use a good editing.
Sensational? Yes. Credible? In places.

Great Book
This is the second book I have read on Marilyn Monroe. This book puts the whole thing on the Kennedys which puts a dagger in there legendary status for me. They did great things in government but there morality is seriously questionable.
