Only Average

What did you like best about Tell No One? What did you like least?

I liked how the story began but how it came together and ended was ridiculous, how he was allowed to be pursued by the police was disgraceful. The story ended up being kinda stupid.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I actually listened to this many books ago, I don't remember what I read next.

What aspect of Ed Sala’s performance would you have changed?

Nothing, he was fine.

Do you think Tell No One needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Heck No, one was enough.

Any additional comments?

I like stories that make sense and this one just didn't do it for me.

Figured it out a third of the way in

Not the best performance. The narrator didn't have a high flexibility on his character differential. The story itself was lacking, and the twist at the end doesn't make sense for the character. Seems like it was placed there last minute for a reach at a higher rating.

Annoyingly suspenseful

If you could sum up Tell No One in three words, what would they be?

Average suspense novel

What other book might you compare Tell No One to and why?

None of Coben's other books. I usually love his stuff. I could've done without this one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. It made me anxious just trying to get past the filler to find out what the hook was.

Old narrator young characters....doesn’t wprk

When you’re choosing narrators you may want to find ones that match the characters. When you get an old guy like this with a mono-tone (he has inflection...just sounds tired, exhausted, and bored).
The story might be okay but it’s ruined by the wrong narrator. Don’t waste a credit. Read this book.

Interesting premise but ends strangely

If you could sum up Tell No One in three words, what would they be?

Kept you guessing

What did you like best about this story?

Interesting premise with a good opening hook. Complications kept you guessing until almost the end.

Any additional comments?

The very end was disappointing and not realistic. Should have come up with something more plausible. But it is Corben's trademark to offer a unique twist at the end of his stories!

Great

Loved it! Highly recommend. Character develops as the story twists loved tyrese and his good/evil side.

Pulpy whodunnit

I purchased this title in the Audible sale and was initially irritated by the boilerplate suspense format. In style and substance the book is just "fine" but didn't stand out in any way. The plot twists and turns in the second half were interesting, though, and redeemed the book for me.

Bad choice of narrator!

What didn’t you like about Ed Sala’s performance?

Too old for the character! His voice sounded like he was narrating a 60's detective drama.

Any additional comments?

I like the story but I shouldn't have to keep reminding myself that the character isn't a 60's TV detective wanna-be!
