Located in Tokyo, 1.1 miles from Uramori Inari Shrine, Mercure Tokyo Haneda Airport provides accommodations with a fitness center, private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Very spacious room with great design, ideal when traveling with a lot of suitcases, closet, very comfortable bed, great amenities which were refilled every day, big bathroom, wide window with nice night view, the sofa and table are nice for relaxing or working, and has main as well as ambient lighting. The AC is great (for people sensitive to air current is ideal, as it's not directed to the bed), and even though it was winter, the room was warm and didn't necessarily needed heating. The staff was very kind (especially at the reception bar) and helpful. The location is convenient next to the airport, and there is a direct metro line to some of the central parts of Tokyo.

Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu is located in Beppu, 13 miles from Oita Bank Dome and 7.5 miles from Oita Station. With a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Comfortable but with very tiny rooms. Unusual experience {which we liked} for a big hotel is that you must not wear shoes at any place in the hotel. All floors are carpeted with tatami mats, which are beautiful, but since this hotel caters a lot to tour groups, the front doors become jammed when a bus comes in and people must remove their shoes. Tour groups also bottleneck at the elevators and restaurant. Breakfasts looked great, but we wouldn't go when tours were lined up. Excellent coffee always available. Outdoor onsen was tiny (maybe 3 meters by 3 meters). Indoor onsen was large enough, but not hot enough. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Fantastic English-speaking staff. Dormy's HR Dept know their stuff. We'd stay again, despite the small rooms and small onsen. Visit the very old downtown onsen, Takegawara, , a must, and the seafront walk, Good bakery (Mermaid) at the train station. Liveely downtown area.

Attractively set in Kyoto, THE GENERAL KYOTO Shijou Shinmachi has an American breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. This 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. Breakfast was more than adequate & very nice. Good choices between continental & Japanese breakfast. In addition, we were offered eggs, salmon and or meat choices. The breakfast room was nicely decorated & bright to make a cheerful start to our day. All the staff were very hospitable & helpful, especially Sayuri - who spoke very good English. My family's special thanks to her! The entire property, without exception, was spotlessly clean & pleasant smelling. Above all, I must say that Mr. Kosei Kawasaki, the Duty Manager on that rainy morning did everything in his power to get us a big cab for the station and personally helped load the cab with our 6 pieces of luggage in the heavy rain.
