What was the best part about using Odoo?
It's a open source customer relationship management and resource planning tool which provides a ton of value upfront. Overall features include the CRM, website builder, POS, ecommerce, sales and billing, accounting and bookkeeping, manufacturing, HR procurement, warehouse management, project management and marketing as well. The sales and marketing components enable you to utilize apps which help increase your bottom line locally and internationally including live chat, surveys, event management and lead scoring and automation in addition to the sales based CRM, POS and quote builder. The website builder enables you to create optimize blogs and ecommerce stores. Downloading and installing the software was a bit of a process and took nearly half an hour from start to finish but it's worth. When I finally had it installed there were over thirty apps in total and many integrations including CRM, project and task management, MRP, sales management, POS, discussion based, leave management, invoicing, accounting and finance, issue tracking, notes, website builder, ecommerce, purchase management, employee directory, timesheets, recruitment process, expense tracker, custom dashboards, surveys, mass emailing, food ordering, equipment and assets, calendar, online events, blogs, slides, forum, fleet management, live chat and repair management. Needless to say this is the most comprehensive, robust and flexible all in one business platform that I have come across and I have had the privilege of researching business software extensively in recent months.
What would you change about your experience with Odoo?
There's simply a lot of functionality to learn up front in order to get going. If you're already familiar with external systems than it would be helpful as functionality is quite similar. I wish there a bit better descriptions of each app, and whether it was included in the free version prior to installing each app. But that's minor as it's easy enough to reference their website to find this information.
Overall Feedback
Having this amount of features in one centralized system that is relatively user friendly and easy to begin using is very rare in my experience. I didn't get a chance to try all of the apps yet but the CRM has a drag and drop based sales pipeline which tells me it's quite savvy and user friendly overall. There are so many uses for it which will speed up your workflow efficiency, increase your productivity and empower your team through it's cross-departmental 360 view of front and back-end functionality. And considering it's completely free minus certain features that's incredible for any small business just getting started. Upgrading beyond two users is quite affordable considering you won't need many other external paid third party services any longer. I have no doubt there is a tremendous return on investment possible as you literally run nearly every aspect of your business from this single software.
