THE London finals of the NABGC Championships at Hayes Working Men’s Club on November 1 produced a talking point when James Harris (ELBA) beat Bobby Mullally (Yeading) on a 3-2 split decision at Class D 63.5kgs.

Mullally’s fans were unhappy, given Harris received two public warnings in the last – first for throwing his opponent over, and then for what seemed slapping.

But at the end of the night Brian John, who refereed the tumultuous bout, confirmed that hewhereas previously it was optional.
