About this audiobook

Saving the world is easy for a superhero—unless you're a fraud.

Jo Tanis is a hero in name only. She might have superpowers, but she's under the thumb of the Agency who controls all the supers around the world, setting up fake fights to entertain the public. With her Guardian Mike, she's forced to live a life that's not hers... until one day when an alien ship arrives.

In the ensuing chaos, almost all of the front-line supers are killed, unable to use their skills effectively after years of play-fighting and pretend-wins. Jo escapes, but she's living on borrowed time, thanks to the Agency's hold on her life. Gathering a team of survivors around her, she's determined to save not only her life but the rest of the world--if they can all step up and become the heroes they need to be.

But no one, hero or villain, saves the world without a sacrifice...

Editor's Note

Superhero Action...

If you’ve ever watched a Marvel movie and wished there was a book equivalent--well, here’s Blaze of Glory. It’s set in a world where superheroes are the norm, only they’re not truly heroes — they’re controlled by a worldwide Agency. But when an alien spaceship arrives and kills all the A-list supers, the heroine has to step into action to save the world. It’s fast-paced, fun, and thrilling all at once, like the best superhero movies.

Loved every minute of the first book. Getting ready to listen to the 2cd book

This was a quite different style of story than I was expecting when I started it. The characters are flawed more than in your typical superhero adventure and the drama comes more from the human nature of the characters and the organisation they work under than the primary threat of the aliens.

However, it's both gripping and intriguing to see the characters come into their own and I'm definitely looking forward to the other books in the series!

Fantastic book, humor, seriousness, little bit of sensuality. Will read the rest.

Meh. Bland superhero story. Other than the protagonist having a chip on her shoulder the size of a bowling ball, most of the characters were not very interesting. I kept waiting for the main character to grow into her role, but her idea of leadership was thinking she knew everything and telling the people under her to shut up. She came across less like a hero, and more like a bad boss. The premise of the story would’ve been cute if it hadn’t been rehashed from galaxy quest.

The story was ok. To me, it felt like a fan fic written by a teenager with a pink gel pen. Just a bit bland and obvious for my tastes. The narrator did a good job breathing life into the characters.

I enjoyed the reluctant super hero team that decided to take on the alien invaders. Definitely not super deep but it was an enjoyable read.
