About this audiobook
On a random night out with her girlfriends, Taye experiences something she hasn’t before.
Instant attraction.
Between vodkas and dance moves she probably shouldn't be doing in public, never mind on a podium, she meets him.
She’s never had a one night stand before, and to have one is on her list of things to experience in her life.
Not only that, but the chemistry is off the charts.
Decision made.
She’s going home with this man, and she’s not going to regret it when she leaves him in the morning.
Or at least that’s what she thinks.
Editor's Note
New York Times Bestselling Author...
Fernando’s “The List” begins with a one-night stand, one where neither of the two has any expectation of future contact. But their chemistry is off the charts, and soon they find themselves wondering if they can commit to one person for the rest of their lives. Fernando writes flawed, deeply real characters, and her books are sexy and intense.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. Some reviewers enjoyed the realistic writing and narration, as well as the banter and rollercoaster of the relationship. However, there were negative reviews that criticized the repetitive inner monologues, the main character's obsession with the love interest, and the lack of depth in the male character. Overall, the book received both positive and negative feedback, with some readers finding it enjoyable and others feeling disappointed. Despite the mixed reviews, the positive aspects of the title shine through, making it worth a read for those who enjoy realistic romance stories.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh my God I loved this story so much! I really love this authors stories! Off to read another!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Not for me ,to much drama ,to much 1 year ,2 years ,few years later and then tougher...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Good, very good , voice very pleasant!
Not very long but deep! - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5DNF. For the past 4 chapters all I could think is “please read or watch He’s Just Not That Into You, tell him you’re worth more, block his number and do your best to move on - for the sake of your emotional wellbeing.” If this ends in a HEA, I’ll hate that it’s so unrealistic and giving women false hope that being a pushover and accepting dregs can still end in a good relationship; if not it will be sad and I’ve seen enough of these relationships in real life.
And seriously, who tries to initiate anal sex with someone on their first time together with no warmup, no negotiation, no testing the waters with fingering or a toy?! The fact that she was unprepared should be obvious to any man who has the slightest experience with anal and consideration for their partner.
And no condoms? Despite the fact that he has multiple one-night stands? The main character seems to have self-destructive tendencies that I can’t identify with at all. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed that they didn't get what they wanted right away. That she was willing g to put herself above her feelings.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sexy, hot, heartbreaking and back to sexy! Loved the liberated characters!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Dnf at chapter 13. Main character has no self respect. I can't count how many times I thought "how pathetic" when I was trying to listen to this.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5An absolutely awful monologue with pauses between each sentence which drags the book on even more. I skip-read most of it and it never got interesting.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I agree a bit with the other readers. It drags on a bit in some points. Could have gone with less "I am perfect, and I love him, and he doesn't" it's repetitive at times. Still liked it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Narrator was abit monotone, and the main character seemed to desperate for him, but overall a good book.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Thid book was VERY HARD to listen to. Skiped a lot
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5extremely strong start but there were 15 chapters of the same exact “i’m just a perfect person with no faults who loves freely and i miss him so much and i’m a strong independent woman so i’m going to keep on pining after him for FOUR YEARS until he decides to come back around” … and SPOILER it’s not until she stops throwing herself at this guy … who seems like he wants nothing to do with her …. that he decides that maybe he does actually like her enough. I had to skim the second half of the book just because i wanted to know how it ended but it was painfully slow
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Repetitive, and lacking depth of character. Sorry. I wanted to like it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5While I loved the main character, I felt the male character was missing more depth. Writing is hard and writing a good relationship is harder. Overall, I was happy with the speed of the story and the love of being independence the MC.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This story and narration are perfection. Definitely worth listening. In all truth I will probably listen to this more than once.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I liked this book and narration was spot on! Realistic and well written. Loved the banter! Can’t wait to see what else this author has written
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Some of the reviews are very dramatic, I'll say that. It was actually the reviews that made me want to read it to see if it really was the train wreck that was described. It doesn't deserve the hate it got.
He never lies or promises more than he is willing to give. In fact, yes pretty honest and straightforward when it comes to that. She never asked for more, nor did she request that they become exclusive.
Cringeworthy moments? For sure yes.
Is she a bit dramatic? At times.
Could I relate to falling for someone who is unavailable? Absolutely.
Do I think she waited around pining for him all these years? Absolutely not. I think it really was a case of no one who came around did it for her (even though only one was described in the book) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I truly loved it. I have to say I think was in tears about 5 different times. This tends to happen with most of Chantels books. Can’t wait to move in to the next book

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I didn’t hate it. At all. Actually it’s one of the better books I’ve listened to lately. A little annoyed with the “one year later.” And “two years later” but it wrapped up nicely
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5You can use almost every word typical for a romance novel but when it comes to the word ass you can’t?!? You use arse?!? Why???? I cringed every time she said it….other than that I enjoyed the book.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not sure if I really liked this book. A lot of it is repetitive and I admit I skipped a few chapters. Taye did a lot of introspective belly button gazing. The book would have been better if it was half the length or if there was more than one story in it. Writing a book, partying with friends with yearly catch ups with Eli does not provide an adequate story. The concept is sound, but she really came off as a bit too much and he was too 'mysterious'.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book pissed me off. She just needed to get over him instead of spending half the book obsessing over him.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well this is a totally different kind of story than I thought it would be....I kind of didn't like it at times but I honestly think that it might be my favorite I have read in quite a while

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Low key cringe. I can not take anyone serious saying arse in a non British accent. I get the book is suppose to be real and raw but it does not come off that way. It’s just made me want to knock some sense into the main character.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I didn’t care for the writing or the reader. And the main character seemed……. We’ll say dingy.. It really seems like the whole book was about him not really wanting her, red flag after red flag. It got pretty annoying.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was really good but the end could have been a little bit clearer. It was all about her and not enough info about him.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I couldn't finish it. I'm not sure if it was the writing or just the narration, but I found this book unbearable

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5********SPOILERS******This book was incredibly difficult to get through. It romantized a man who consistently showed that he was not interested, and it's like his honestly somehow made the woman more delusional about how "good" of a person he was. But we never really got to see how good he was because there was no action to back it. I considered DNF'ing it, but we made it to the part where her vision cleared up. And maybe I'm wrong, but all it did was support the idea that a man only wants you when you stop chasing him. Anyways, we made it, and well, I wouldn't recommend it, but I also wouldn't tell you not to read it.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was ok. Tay’s inner monologues were rather repetitive and contradictory.
