About this audiobook

#1 BESTSELLING GLOBAL PHENOMENON

Sarah J. Maas's sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly—proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past
the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhys and and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites.

The fire between them is undeniable, and it only burns hotter as they are forced to work closely together.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance—and healing—in each other’s arms.

SJM has excelled in her writing in this one. Lyrical sentences, theatrical details in the description of characters and tasteful spice! It also deals with patriarchical ideas and mental health issues. The narrator executed the story in a marvelous way!

This was amazing, more than I was hoping for, honestly, and my new favorite of the series. I already enjoyed Cassian/Nesta and definitely was shipping them, but I loved their prickly banter, seeing inside their heads, and watching them come together. I was absolutely there for Nesta's training. But what really took it over the top, the friend group. I just adored seeing Nesta open up to other damaged females and watching them together find their strength

I really hope she lets out Elaine’s inner ……… succubus we shall say in the near future! I’m always looking for Maas to be putting out anything new. Seriously if you haven’t checked out her other serious and you’ve made it to this book then you’re missing out on some other great series!!

I loved Silver Flames so much. Nesta’s journey, her relationship to Cassian and her found family – everything about this was perfect to me. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the internet-hatred of this book, it’s my #2 after ACOMAF.

If you’d asked me what character I’d like to do a deep dive on, Nesta wouldn’t have come up on my list. I really enjoyed her story regardless, even though Feyre is my favorite, she did deserve a break. I liked who Nesta made herself. I definitely had more questions about what’s next and I hope there will be more books (even if they won’t fit in my boxed set).

Sarah J Maas did not disappoint. She tells Nesta and Cassians stories beautifully and if you weren't fans of them in the beginning, you will be by the end of the book!

Another chocolate biscuit feast. Not much plot, lots of angst and lots of sex. Sometimes you just want your brain to have a rest and a romantasy (as they are now called) is just what is needed. I'm still not a massive fan of Cassian - I just don't think he's clever enough for Nesta but heigh ho. Based on SJM's previous series being 7 books, I'm guessing the next one will be Elain's romance with someone? and then final book will be the big fight against the magician etc.

Needs a flare for Abuse and SA.
Haha again emo horney teens. Sometimes it gets super cheese or/and cringe. But I like the adventure stuff and treasure hunt. I just rolled my eyes at the tantrums and skipped over the porn. I do dislike the patriarchy…. Why create such a works when you have to skills to write something else? Is it easier to write strong women if they live in an oppressive world? Because of the strong contrast? I wonder…

This book is not meant for YA readers. How anyone thinks this is possibly meant for young readers is beyond me. Every third chapter is an unnecessarily graphic sex scene. This adds nothing to the story line in my opinion and after listening to a few of them I’ve started skipping past because it’s unsettling. I’m confused by the emphasis placed here on these sex scenes and I’m sad that this is the direction our society is moving. It seems to take more and more graphic depictions to satisfy our populace and it’s disturbing that the author thinks this is somehow helpful to kids. I could get past the extremely liberal feminist themes until this book put rough sex on a pedestal. One star is probably all this particular book in the series is worth. I have two just because I enjoyed the first three books quite a bit.

I love this series more than words can say. Hated that I had to wait for two months to listen to them due to the way Everland is Sry up to keep you paying for another month. I would have paid regardless.

I would say that this is the best of all the books in this series. Nesta is a far more interesting protagonist than her sister. I liked the elements of the Valkyries training.

I know some people come to these books for their salacious love scenes, which she writes well... but I get bored by the sheer quantity of them. Just a note to the author: I think they would pack a greater punch so to speak if there were just two or three of them in the book, rather than like 50, it felt like there was one (or 10 scenes) every other chapter.

I love the entire series. All of the books. The author herself is magnificent. The reason for the low rating is because it is a completely different narrator. The first 4 have 2 different narrators already, but they at least read it similarly enough not to be an issue. Jennifer Ikeda did books 1 and 2. Amanda Cobb did books 3 and 4. Amanda did a really great job with each character and made the audiobooks what they are since she read the last 2. Changing narrators again for the last book ( last, at least for now) is like changing the entire cast of your favorite tv show for the season finale. If you have stuck with all the books up until now. You will be disappointed with the new narrator. Im not saying she's a bad narrator, not in the least. I'm saying that because there is a different reader, it completely changes the characters as far as tones. They should have brought Ms. Cobb back for this book also. I would definitely listen to it all over again if she read it.

The narrator is so intense and great at building the tension or emotion in the different k8nds of scenes...I wouldn't normally call myself a romance fiction reader but this series is really engaging, the narrator skills it. ?

Super necessary story for closure in order to heal nesta from the traumatic events of ACOWAR.
