Good first like 3/4. But the end is so rushed and confusing. Almost like the writer couldn’t decide who the true villain of the story would be.

I really just loved this. It has all the feel good fantasy feelings, a little mystery, somw twists and turns, and a dash of romance. It was a seriously good read

Bailed at Chapter 15...kept waiting for something to happen. That was enough.

I really enjoyed this book, the ACOTAR type of sinister twist towards the end had me on edge. Most of the time, I felt our main character, Gemma was...not the sharpest tool in the shed...Often reminding me of the person running carelessly into a haunted house in a horror movie while everyone home on the couch screams "don't do it! It's a trap!" She never listens though, of course, finding herself in many a predicament.

This was my first novel by Claire, and from what I've read online a lot of her fans were disappointed. I look forward to giving her other works a listen, if this one didn't meet fans standards then I'm excited to see what does!

The narrator was excellent with this very descriptive book. The combination was wonderful.

Trigger warning for this book: the plot deals heavily with self harm. It’s annoying. I tried really hard to like this book, I listened to most of it. But it’s boring, the plot flies by without much reason for a lot of it. Too much happens without enough exposition. Really disappointing.

Boring and slow. I didn't finish it. Only got to chapter 3
