I read the series out of order, but actually enjoyed it more. Book 2, 3, 4, The Queen novella, then book 1. What a captivating story that Cass has created. Can't wait for the Warner Bros. movie version coming out in a few years!

I could not put this down!! Hands down one of the best books I’ve read, luckily I can continue to the next! The writing was great, the love triangle even better! I felt like it was a mix of the hunger games (with out the violence) and the bachelor!

Amazing start to the series. I really enjoyed the different characters and learning about them. America is definitely a strong main character and I loved reading about her relationships with different characters in the book, especially Marlee and Maxon.

Narration was excellent. Story was lacking. Wished it had been better plotted.

I read this book in high-school. I loved it then. I honestly thought I had out grown it and I wouldn't like it as much now but the funny thing is I think I might like it even more now.

I don't know if YA is getting more predictable or if I've somehow just become a snob, but I miss being surprised, and I saw the end coming maybe fifty pages in. It's really disheartening because I love the genre, I love dystopian novels, but I'm starting to wonder if it's all really played out and I should move on to more "adult" reading material like my age begs me to do.

I really wanted to love this book. I really did. It was simply too slow, too boring, too fluffy without any solid substance behind it at all, and with the main character having the absolute stupidest name I've ever heard, I just couldn't. The book tried, I tried, but we both fell incredibly short.

Excuse my while I go twirl my fork menacingly. *snort*

The Selection Book 1 is a very light hearted novel to get into if you’re looking for something that isn’t a heavy read.

It was a VERY good book but narration was TERRIBLY bad. The only way to get rid of it was setting the speed to 0.8 x, which helped. A little. Anyway, I liked it a LOT.

It was very slow to get started and it's more for young readers. I'm hoping I can make it to the end without getting bored. If nothing else, I'll flip to the last several chapters to see the end. I would let's preteen read this book. The four stars that I gave this book was because I kept reading and because I think a young preteen wouldn't blush reading this book.

I loved this book so much...I thought I wasn't going to like it at the beginning but I just loved it more as it came to the end. I think that Aspen just ruined a lot just by being there so hopefully America makes the right choice on who she loved and loves❤??
