About this audiobook
Hana isn't supposed to exist. She's grown up hidden by her mother in a secret room of the bioship Cyclo until the day her mother is simply gone-along with the entire crew. Cyclo tells her she was abandoned, but she's certain her mother wouldn't leave her there to die. And Hana isn't ready to die yet. She's never really had a chance to live.
Fenn is supposed to die. He and a crew of hired mercenaries are there to monitor Cyclo as she expires, and the payment for the suicide mission will mean Fenn's sister is able to live. But when he meets Hana, he's not sure how to save them both.
As Cyclo grows sicker by the day, they unearth more secrets about the ship and the crew. But the more time they spend together, the more Hana and Fenn realize that falling for each other is what could ultimately kill them both.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I thought for sure that I was going to LOVE this book... Well, I didn't really love it, but I did like it. Overall, this book was a bit much for me. A little too over the top. I think I am just getting bored with the rich and broody. I think, for the most part, it loses its appeal and loses my interest a lot faster than other books.
This story is full of angst, confusion, regret, mystery and betrayal. Those should equal a winner. The characters just didn't win me over in this one. I didn't really care for them, and they were more pretentious for me. I don't mind characters with a lot of money, but when they are presented in a way that they are supposed to be normal but are clearly spoiled, I have little interest. I can't connect.
This story, which is told in past and present, isn't a bad one. It will get a lot of attention that like books with such over the top characters. Many will really like it. It just isn't one that I can rave about... And this saddens me. Kim is a very taleneted author and has a knack for giving her readers larger than life characters.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was a good read. Creative plots with interesting characters. I do wish they got a narrator who knows how to pronounce Korean words a little more accurately. While realizing that Hana is not supposed to Korean fluent, it was still painful to hear the language get botched so severely.
