About this audiobook

Two women. An office filled with secrets. One terrible crime that can't be taken back.

Dawn Schiff is strange.

At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45 a.m.

So when Dawn doesn't show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie Farrell―beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running―is surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changes everything…

It turns out Dawn wasn't just an awkward outsider―she was being targeted by someone close. And now Natalie is irrevocably tied to Dawn as she finds herself caught in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who's the real victim?

But one thing is incredibly clear: somebody hated Dawn Schiff.

Enough to kill.

The Coworker is a tense, unputdownable thriller from New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden that explores the dark ways the past can echo through the present―with deadly consequences.

The narration is praised for its skillful delivery. However, some reviewers found the talk about turtles and the format of the emails to be annoying. This is the third Freida McFadden book I have read. While I love her slow burn approach I struggled with this one but once it got going it was great! As always she was two steps ahead!

I must say I did not enjoy this novel as much as McFadden's others, but it was entertaining.

The thing she does best is the "twisty endings. always a good twist. It leaves you with a taste of the macabre, when the innocent is not all that innocent, where the underdog may not be as "under" as you think.

I truly enjoy this author's novels, it just that this one wasn't as good as her others.

Well written narrative & keeps you guessing at first but the idea of the whole plot is a bit messed up. Only one thing is for certain with McFadden's books, noone is ever what they seem & murderes, liars and cheats somehow get away with it! Narrator was really good.

Freida does it again. My favorite part about her books is that I think I know the plot and then I’m thrown loop after loop with shock.

Pretty interesting and didn’t see a lot of the surprises coming. I liked the characters.

Did feel like the ending was a last minute twist that was unnecessary and not well thought out. Just felt a little cheap

Not as good as Freida’s other books and the plot didn’t develop enough throughout the book to keep me super interested

Good story, interesting characters. The narrator did a great job with the character of dawn.

The path of the characters in the separate parts of the book were meticulously written. The voice of Dawn as a (potentially) neurodivergent woman was accurate and exciting to listen to. Well done.

Highly recommend! Although I had it figured out before the big reveal - process of elimination- I really enjoyed the book. It was a great companion on the lonely road between Tucson and Phoenix.

It was OK. The RE emails were annoying and the narrator was a bit monotone and robotic at times. Not one of her better books
