The fabulously suspenseful and "smashing" (The New York Times Book Review) final novel in the Bill Hodges trilogy from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers!
For nearly six years, in Room 217 of the Lakes Region Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, Brady Hartsfield has been in a persistent vegetative state. A complete recovery seems unlikely for the insane perpetrator of the “Mercedes Massacre,” in which eight people were killed and many more maimed for life. But behind the vacant stare, Brady is very much awake and aware, having been pumped full of experimental drugs...scheming, biding his time as he trains himself to take full advantage of the deadly new powers that allow him to wreak unimaginable havoc without ever leaving his hospital room. Brady Hartsfield is about to embark on a new reign of terror against thousands of innocents, hell-bent on taking revenge against anyone who crossed his path—with retired police detective Bill Hodges at the very top of that long list....

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a great conclusion to the Bill Hodges Trilogy. The recurring characters are well-developed and likable, particularly Holly. The plot takes an unexpected turn with the introduction of supernatural powers, which some readers found strange. However, overall, the series is highly recommended and showcases Stephen King's mastery of storytelling. The narration by Will Patton is also praised for bringing the characters to life. While not among King's best works, End of Watch is still a solid finale to the trilogy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This completion of the 3 books from Stephen King have been nothing short of amazing. Will Patton was also nothing short of amazing doing the audiobook. I'm a voice actor myself and wish I had his talents but Stephen King is such an amazing author and I would love to see this 3 book series become a 3 movie series!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thought it was a good book and a good trilogy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great novel. I really enjoyed this series. Will Patton is an outstanding narrator.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5As this is the third book of the Hodges trilogy, it really irritated me that he decided to bring in super natural powers at this late stage. If you were going to go that route, do it earlier in the series. Springing it in book 3 just felt strange. The first two books I really enjoyed. I loved that all the characters (Hodges, Holly, Jerome etc. ) carried through but I just can’t get on board with the plot line of the third book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I just love Holly! She's today's angst ridden, woman's hero.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea ?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good book but went way different route than first two. Left unanswered questions from first two as well. Read the series very good.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My fave book in Bill Hodges Trilogy!! Kinda sad but still a very good one!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have grown so attached to the characters that I already feel withdrawals. I want Stephen King to live forever so we can enjoy endless novels from him
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This has been a great series. really was able to connect to the characters.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Stephen King weaves a lovely web of mystery with threads of suspence, leaving little clues here and there, before ultimately tying things off into a neat bow. Great read, sad to have it finished.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5End of Watch was a great follow up and conclusion to the story of Kermit, Holly and Jerome. Three unlikely friends.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Nice ending for this thriller series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Yet another amazing book from my favorite author. A must read series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you are interested at all, listen to the entire trilogy. Great time!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the kind of series that leaves you feeling depressed because it's over and wishing there was more. Fortunately, Holly reappears in The Outsider and a short story in If It Bleeds. However, the feeling of wanting more still remains.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great end to a great Trilogy! Must read if you like Outsider
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am not a professional critic, I am just someone who loves great fiction. I am convinced that King is one of the greatest authors of our time. The characters he creates and the way he reveals their stories is masterful. I loved this trilogy and I look forward to reading more!!!!!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I read Stephen King books over and over. Not consecutively but maybe every 5 years or so. I like it when the good guy wins. I like a good story. Stephen King tells a good story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow! KING IS BRILLIANT. End of Watch was a great story with great characters. I hope that I can see more of Holly in the future!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Solid finale to a decent trilogy. While it certainly doesn't rank among King's very best, it proves once again that he can write in any genre better than nearly everyone alive.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The recurring characters in End of Watch are great. Stephen King is definitely on the top of his game. His understanding of the human personality and perception make these folks not only real but likable. The book is a soup of Criminal Minds and The Dead Zone with a little Mr Robot thrown in for taste.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I think I liked the first two books better. I didn't really buy into the supernatural aspect which wasn't in the first two books and this book seemed too rushed as if King wasn't really into it and just had to complete the trilogy. I'd have to say that it was just OK and nothing really to write home about!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I've loved this trilogy, and End of Watch is definitely an excellent conclusion to the series. As always, King manages to combine suspense, great characters and a plot with a hint of the supernatural almost without trying. I think the Hodges books would make a great introduction to King's work for those who want to ease themselves into his love of the uncanny gently but still want a cracking mystery to solve.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really enjoyed all three books. Narrator did a good job.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great closure for the detective Hodges trilogy. I highly recommend reading them all!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Will Patton is an amazing narrator. He really brings all the characters to life. I absolutely love Holly and how she's written and how she's voiced here. This book is so so good and such a good ending to the trilogy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book that only Steven King could come up with, I will listen to it again and again.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The last of the trilogy... i really loce this last one.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I very much enjoyed the Bill Hodges Trilogy. And I love Holly. I didn't plan on reading the complete trilogy, but I did. And I am glad
