About this audiobook
As Tyson begins to use the new desk, he finds himself writing copy at an unfathomable speed, becomes so focused on writing that he binges on all-night, all-day sessions that take a serious physical and psychological toll.
Soon, Tyson begins acting strange. Violent.
Meanwhile, a mysterious woman, Diana Montresor, is making inquiries with her sources around the globe for the whereabouts of a certain artifact she, and her family, have been hunting for centuries.
As forces converge on Tyson’s world, he faces the hardest choice of his life: Does he let go of his new muse, allow it to be taken back to the void of history where it belongs? Or does he continue to live as the desk’s mouthpiece, not only regaining his glory days as a famous writer, but achieving levels of success he’s only dreamed of?
As the desk—and the force that lives inside it—grows stronger, he must choose.
Before it’s too late.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a well-written and true horror story. The book has great visual depictions, strong dialog, and well-developed characters that evoke strong emotions in the reader. While the storyline is not original, it is well done and full of original thoughts. The narrator of the audiobook version is highly praised for his performance. The book is not for the lighthearted, but horror fans will love it. Some readers found the book dark and unsettling, but they still loved it and appreciated the element of mystery it left them with.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wow. That was dark .. and a bit unsettling. I loved it. I didn’t read the synopsis so I went into this blind, and that’s honestly probably the best way to go. It left me with questions.. I’m ok with that.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Rape by husband rape by desk.. ues you read right. the usual horror tropes in an old-school boring horror book. Ugh dnf next!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was alright. It gave me strong Tales from the Crypt vibes that carried throughout the entire book. Unfortunately, nothing much happens. There were some shock value events sure, but plotwise, it went nowhere. It certainly does a good job of masquerading as an 80s horror novel by adding a lot of gore to make Ameeicans who live in suburbs uncomfortable but I guess I was expecting some big climactic showdown or something more "evil" to happen and it never did. And of course, in true predictable American fashion, even in a grim book they want whatever passes for a "happy' ending so Violet survives for no reason at all aside from some cryptic blah. It would've been forgivable if it went SOMEWHERE like if this was the first in a dark trilogy or something, but if that's it? A one shot? Meh. Interesting enough to kill a few hours if you want something passive to listen to I guess.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not bad for a casual read. Thanks. Please write more demonic horror fiction.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Old School Horror.
A demon possessed DESK... What more could you ask for?! I love Fracassi's work. He has picked up where King left off in the 80's.
If you haven't read it yet, give A Child Alone With Strangers a go. It's incredible. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It would have been better to read this myself. Couldn't get past audiobook voice guy's style.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Would have appreciated some kind of foreshadowing or warning for graphic description of SA about half way through the book.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Considering how much I hate the main character, this book deserves the 5 stars. To take a pathetic, woe-is-me, Tyson that you feel bad for, and turn him into an egotistical and hateful character…well that takes some skill as an author.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well written, true horror. Great visual depictions and strong dialog. The characters are well developed and cause strong emotions in the reader. Storyline is not original but well done and full of original thoughts. The narrator ran with this story and made it over the top for me, he was GREAT. Truly awesome, not for the lighthearted, horror fans will love it, I couldn't put it down.
