About this audiobook
Animal Farm, a fairy story, is a short novel by George Orwell. It describes a farm where animals revolt, take over and drive out men. It is an apologue written in the form of an animal fable, but also a dystopia. In this novel, Orwell offers a satire of the Russian Revolution and a critique of the Soviet regime, particularly Stalinism, and beyond that, authoritarian regimes and totalitarianism. The book was named one of the 100 best English-language novels written from 1923 to 2005 by Time magazine.
George Orwell
George Orwell (1903–1950), the pen name of Eric Arthur Blaire, was an English novelist, poet, essayist, journalist, and literary critic. He is best known for his works of social criticism and opposition to totalitarianism. He also wrote nonfiction about his experiences in the working class and as a solder. His work remains influential in popular culture and in political culture, and the adjective “Orwellian,"describing totalitarian and authoritarian social practices, has become part of the English language. In 2008, the London Times named him the second-greatest British writer since 1945.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was read by Yeonmi Park, she is a North Korean “survivor” who escaped their communist regime. By reading it she understood what had happened to her and is happening to the people of N. Korea. Very interesting and scary, as it is happening to the people of the USA today.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5From capitalism to socialism to communism, all men are equal in a sense that they are all corruptible. And there are no perfect political systems in the world, only moral individuals and evil people.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Overtones of the Soviet Union, undertones of capitalism. This book is just as relevant today, perhaps more now that our minds are the new estate of the ruling class.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Editing is terrible, but the story is good. There's double of some sentences/phrases. Messed up lines. Kind of distracting.
