What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a great story with love, action, secrets, twists, and turns. It is a refreshing change from the standard teenage romance/coming of age films. The beginning may be annoying, but the strong young female main character is a positive aspect. Some readers were disappointed by the lack of information about Maddie's mother, but overall, the plot is clean with nice twists and turns. Maddie is a likable protagonist who can fend for herself. The audiobook narration is also enjoyable.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Okay so when's the movie being released?! This was great! It would make such a cool film and definitely a welcomed change from the standard teenage romance/coming of age films in theaters the past few years!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Maddie is definitely your go-to girl slash guide if ever you want to survive in Alaska. I love her as a protagonist! She can fend for herself and she need no man to save her ass for her and I love her for that. Overall, I wasn’t that invested with the story. It’s okay. But I really love the characters! And as for the audiobook, the narrator did a great job narrating it! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed this story. I found the beginning to be very annoying but I'm glad that I stuck with it. It's nice to see a book with a strong young female main character. I didn't like the fact that we don't learn anything about Maddie's mother and why she isn't in her life. Parents are a huge part of a child's life and to just leave it out makes no sense to me and feels very shallow. That's a huge part of Maddie's life and character that is just skipped. I would recommend this book though.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great, clean plot with nice twists and turns. A tale of friendship, love, and survival.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Holy poop, LOVE!!!! Everything about it is great. There’s love, action, secrets, twists and turns. Bravo!!
