He spent forty-five years at Davy on custom-designed rolling mills for the World Metals Industries, twenty-two years as Technical or Marketing Director, and five years as Technical Strategist, making 300+ overseas visits to obtain orders and promote new technology, whilst also modernising the firm’s internal operations. Visiting nearly all the countries then making steel, he met many amazing characters and situations.
