She was only 5 years old when a seamstress neighbor of hers generously provided her with various scraps of fabric which she proudly carried home in a brown paper grocery sack that was quickly turned into handmade dolls.Millicent self-taught herself to sew, crochet, craft and knit as the local library had a vast collection of illustrated how-to-books.
