One significant assignment was to the Presidential Airlift Wing where he received letters of appreciation from President Jimmy Carter and Secretary of State Cyrus Vance. He is a distinguished graduate (top 10%) of the Air Force Non-commissioned Officer Academy, Senior NCO Academy, and the Advanced Air Transportation Management School. He is also a graduate from the Air Force First Sergeant Academy.
After military service, he taught high school for 14 years. He has a degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University and a masters in Human Resource Development from Chapman University.view less
