This involved the designing and ...view moreFfranses ingram is a renowned and award winning Welsh storyteller having worked for 17 years with the New South Wales’ Education Department’s Performing Arts’ unit. This involved the designing and delivering of oral literacy programmes and workshops in world tales to schools and early childhood centres, showing the myriad ways in which stories are told, e.g. string games, origami, sand stories. The Education Department Highly Recommended her work and it was subsequently showcased for teachers, librarians and early childhood educators.
Her own stories have been published in the New South Wales’ Education Department’s School Magazines, and screened on national television, as well as published in American children’s magazines.
Along with her writing, Ffranses is an illustrator with a Visual Arts Degree, a Diploma in Education, and a Diploma in Graphic Design and Illustration. Passionate about the image that represents the story her first illustrated book, ‘The Man in the Panama Hat and the Windy, Windy Day’ by Joachim Gevert, was made a notable picture book in the 2018 Children’s Book Council of Australia awards.
When not illustrating textiles, Ffranses makes proddy rugs of her animals from her studio in Sydney, Australia.view less
