He attended Virginia State University with an interim of 2 years in the Marine Corps, then returned to graduate in 1976 with a degree in Sociology. On his journey of being called into the ministry, he served as founder of the Sociology Newsletter and the United Youth Fellowship. He began as an associate at Cobb Memorial Church in Atlanta Georgia and credits Dr. Ratliff the pastor at that time, for his mentorship by example. Robert C. Brown went on to become pastor of Redmond Creek Baptist Church in Galax Virginia, Zion Hill Baptist Church of Radford Virginia, Macedonia Baptist in Sparta, North Carolina and New Zion Baptist in Rock Hill South Carolina to name a few. Second to his calling to proclaim the Gospel, nothing is more important to him than family. At 74 years of age, he finds that there is still a great necessity to “show yourself approved unto God, a Workman not ashamed RIGHTLY dividing the word of TRUTH.”view less
