    DEDICATION

To my two grandchildren, Blake and Breonna Batchelor.

At the end of his second grade school year, Blake’s assignment was to write a book.

His story was about a rainbow, a leprechaun and a pot of gold.

That little story, born in the imagination of an eight-year old, was the inspiration for this Rainbow Road series of children’s books.

I have discovered that kids do have super powers, the power to capture the heart of an old man.

Blake paused his Super Mario Brothers Wii game and looked at his bare feet.

No Mom, but I'll get them.

Well hurry. Your Dad will be home any minute and we just have time to get to the ball field.

Blake found his cleats under the couch, slipped them on, tied them with a double knot and resumed his battle with Browser.

Six year-old Breonna entered the TV room.

Blake, do you have all your baseball stuff together? Mom's getting a little testy.

Everything is right by my bag. I just have to throw it in and zip it up.

Then you'd better do it fast because Dad just pulled into the driveway.

Blake hit 'save' and 'quit' on the Wii and hustled into the garage. He grabbed his bat, glove, batting helmet and batting gloves and shoved them into his bag just in time.

Hey, Sport, are you sure you've got everything? Britt said. We'd better get going. We don't want to be late for the semi-final game.

Blake had spent the summer playing little league baseball and his team was playing in the semi-finals of the 'Pony' League.

The family loaded folding chairs, coolers
