About this ebook
The controversy surrounding these attacks begins as soon as news reports are known to the world. They are many questions that to this day which still haven’t been answered. Why were the pleas for more security not granted? Who is to blame for the lack of security at the Compound? Were these security issues to blame for the death of Chris Stevens and Sean Smith? During the attack, why was the team at the Annex held for so long? Would a quicker response save the lives of the fallen men? After the attacks, was there a cover-up by the State Department to hide who really was to blame for these attacks? Obama and Clinton claim that the movie Innocence of Muslims along with the already volatile situation in Benghazi triggered the attacks. They denied any reports that al-Qaeda played any major role in orchestrating what happened. The Senate Intelligence Committee that was part of the investigation noted in its report that the situation could have been prevented had the State Department granted the requests for more security.

There were a number of rumors that the US provided military support to Israel, specifically speaking, that US military planes were used in the bombing of Egypt. These false reports were mostly used to explain the Arab defeat. After these allegations spread around the city of Benghazi on June 5, 1967, a mob armed with rocks gathered together and invaded the American consulate through the front gate, threatening the lives of the ten people who worked there. Due to the situation, the 10 employees of the American consulate had to burn all the critical documents and although they were armed, they were ordered to avoid attacking the people. They were only allowed to use tear gas
