    Give Thanks

    ––––––––

I’m thankful for my beautiful house, and my puppy, ‘Snickers’, and my pool, and my cashmere sweaters, and my new necklace, and...

Alright, Sarah, said Ms. Right, our homeroom teacher. I think that’s enough. Let’s give someone else a turn.

It’s the week before Thanksgiving. Ms. Right is going around the class asking everyone what they’re thankful for. And of course Sarah can’t even give a simple thanks without showing off.

And I’m thankful for having the best homeroom teacher ever! added Sarah.

    What a kiss up.

Me, I’m just thankful that I’ve gone three straight weeks without anything weird happening to me. Most kids would probably like a little excitement. Most kids would probably like a little change from their routine of school, chores and homework.

But after wrestling with a pair of psycho, talking pants and battling a five foot, drooling, death dog; I’ll take normal and boring any day - and actually be thankful for it!

Of course, I can’t say that to Ms. Right. For some reason, adults never believe what I go through. So I’ll have to come up with something else I’m thankful for.

And what are you thankful for Tyler? asked Ms. Right.

    Um, family and friends.

    Very nice, said Ms. Right.
