About this ebook
1. He is Michael Across The Hall!
2. He has gorgeous eyes and a super pretty smile.
3. He is kind. I know this, even though I have never talked to him, because I saw him talk to other people and he was nice to them and smiled at them.
4. He lives across the hall and therefore I kind of, sort of, know him (even though we've never talked before.)
5. We now sit across from each other, so now he is not only Michael Across The Hall, but he is Michael Across From Me In Science! Yes! Prayers do get answered!
6. I wonder if Michael is any good at science.... oh, wait, that is not a reason I love him! But, I do wonder that!
7. He seems smart. He answered all the questions the teacher asked correctly. Okay, well, the one he answered he got right. And even though it was only one question, I still feel like he is smart.
8. Because he is compassionate. April said that Emily said that Rebecca said that he once volunteered in an animal shelter (and it wasn't for community service.)
9. Because his name is Michael and that is just a perfect name.
10. Because I think he might be just tall enough that I can wear the high heels (the short ones.)

Chapter 1
My New Diary
March 14
4:00 P.M
I was just given this journal. I am so excited. Turning fourteen on the 14th just feels lucky! I can't wait to write down all my adventures in here.
March 14, Saturday
8:00 P.M
Daniella is spending the night. She is my best friend in the whole world. She is annoyed because I am writing right now instead of talking to her. I shall write down what we say.
What are you doing, Mia?
Writing. Duh!
You are so mean. I mean what are you writing?
I am writing what we are saying.
Why?
So, I remember it forever.
You're so weird.
March 14, Saturday
10:00 P.M
Couldn't resist. Had to write more! So, I am laying...no, that's lying...so I am lying on the bed and thinking random thoughts.
I won't be able to wear high heels, I guess, when I go on a date with Michael.
I twist a strand of the sorry excuse for my hair between my fingertips.
Michael doesn't even know you like him,
Daniella scoffs. She is such a pessimist.
He will once I tell him. I am going to tell him tomorrow. For sure.
Sure, you will. Like you were going to tell him yesterday and the day before. Maybe you should just tell him right now.
No way! The time just isn't right and if the stars aren't correctly aligned in the universe he won't say yes.
Or, he might just say no because he doesn't like you,
Daniella pointed out.
Gee, Daniella, thank you for the boost of confidence. Why do I call you my best friend again?
Chapter 2
Ten Things About Daniella
1. She is fourteen like me.
2. Like everyone else seems to be, she is shorter than me. But not by a whole lot.
3. She does NOT like to be called Danni. For any reason, ever, by anyone. Don't ask her why. She does not like to talk about it.
4. She is a bit pretentious. For those of you who are failing English 101, that means she is a little bit snobby.
5. She can be sarcastic. As evidenced in the first chapter of this journal.
6. She does not like writing or making top ten lists like I do.
7. I think she might also have a secret crush on Michael Across The Hall, and that is why she gets so riled up when I mention our future dates. She just doesn't want to hurt my feelings and plus, I have dibs.
8. Daniella does not respect the code of dibs ANYWAY. She is a boyfriend stealer. This is evidenced by the time that I was dating Sven from Sweden. Of course, she stole him after we broke up, but I think that makes the offense even worse. So much for sisters before misters.
9. Daniella has two brothers and three sisters. Maybe this is why she is better at sharing things (like boyfriends) and I am not so good at it. We only children
