    All Will Be Well

If you have faith it will strengthen it. If you have no faith it will give you some. I really enjoyed this book. With more heart-provoking questions, clear summary statements to hold on to, and new perspectives as you read true stories, this book will give you a new peace about having faith in God. You’ll definitely want your favorite yummy treat and a hi-lighter for this gratifying yet life-changing read.

    —Danielle A., Surrey, UK

    Your Amazing Book. Glowingly positive!

This is a truly beautiful book: kudos! You reduced me to tears a few times, but mostly it just felt affirmatory and challenging (in a good way)! Have copied a few bits that really spoke to me in the P.S. I also find it a very hope-filled book. It would, I think, encourage people new to faith as well as strengthen those of us who’ve been working on our faith for a while. It’s a deeply thoughtful, well-researched book. I knew that Daniel has been called fictional, but I never read that he must have been very old during his hour of trial. I also love the way that you point the ending of each chapter with questions, directly to the reader. You also have a happy knack of finding just the right punchline from Scripture for your point.

P.S. Favorite bits at the moment:

"When the outcome of our struggles feels disappointing, this can place great strain on our faith. It requires trust in God at the highest level to release our expectations. This aspect of faith is probably one of the hardest for us to fully embrace. We need the discernment of the Holy Spirit to recognize that God’s highest priority is to transform us, not just our circumstances."

    —Alice M., Kent, UK

Wow! This book is what I needed

To remind me to never give up.

The stories of seemingly insignificant people in the Bible whom we hardly remember—Jochebed, Miriam, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah, the Shunammite woman, Jairus, Blind Bartimaeus, the Canaanite woman, the Centurion, the four friends who raised the roof, the hemorrhaging woman—how they have displayed extraordinary faith and therefore were extremely rewarded!

The stories of these people were examined and broken down for us to fully understand what they did and how their actions were rewarded with tremendous blessings. It gave us examples of actions to follow and emulate to inspire us to do the same! The seemingly insignificant role of Jochebed in the great exodus of Israelites from Egypt was magnified in this book, reminding us that a role is never too small or insignificant.

In turn, the author reminded us that even great people in the Bible, like Peter and David, can mess up and fail, but how God turns it all around once they have repented. I can’t wait to share it with friends and family who need to be reminded of how simple faith can literally move mountains!

—Mrs. De Dios O., Nevada, USA

This is a very inspiring book.

It’s one thing to know about faith, but this book embraces all the aspects of faith and brings it to life. It inspired me to see God and faith in Him in a whole new way. I highly recommend this book, regardless of where you are in your journey with God. It reminds me that having unshakeable faith is very possible and is not some convoluted secret. Easy to follow and easy to read, and yet challenges the reader to really look at oneself. Very well written!

    —Nathan A., Surrey, UK

Wow! What a life changer! Awesomely inspiring.

It brings the good news that unshakeable faith is attainable in our generation! The author shows the how and why in such a simple, down-to-earth, gentle, but firm manner. By bringing men and women mentioned in the Bible’s life and faith into the 21st century, she proves without a shadow of a doubt that the same miracle-producing, way-making, and overcoming faith possessed by people of old is still available and applicable today. Awesomely inspiring!

    Prologue

This verse inspired me to write this book.

Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned!

    —Isaiah 3:10 (New Living Translation)

    Chapter One

Lord, Please Let it be a Girl!

What, then, shall we say in response to these things?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

    —Romans 8:31 (New International Version)

The sounds of wailing women had already replaced the singing of lullabies in Goshen. Every pregnant woman was also praying a very strange prayer: Lord, please let my baby be a girl. Nine months is a very long time to wait for a baby to be born, and most people usually take that time to make very careful preparations. But cribs, formulas, and nurseries were the furthest things from the young parents’ minds as they waited anxiously for the longed-for births. A once-bustling city, urgent with people and activity, Goshen was instead filled with anxiety and fear. The nervousness was palpable, as anxiety levels rose.

So what on earth was going on? Why the passionate—universal—desire to give birth only to daughters? And why were these expectant mothers all making the same passionate plea to God?

This is why: because every newborn male faced certain death. At the birth of each male, the distraught parents could hardly contain their pain. They wept until they could weep no more. Cries and lamentations filled the air. Goshen’s residents desperately needed a miracle. Powerless to change their own horrific circumstances, everyone cried aloud to God.

To uncover the cause of this calamity a brief history will be needed. This will help us to discover how things got to this point. Pharaoh was troubled by some disturbing dreams.

So he called for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. When Pharaoh told them his dreams, not one of them could tell him what they meant.

Finally, the king’s chief cupbearer spoke up. Today I have been reminded of my failure, he told Pharaoh. "Some time ago, you were angry with the chief baker and me, and you imprisoned us in the palace of the captain of the guard. One night the chief baker and I each had a dream, and each dream had its own meaning.

There was a young Hebrew man with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he told us what each of our dreams meant. And everything happened just as he had predicted. I was restored to my position as cupbearer, and the chief baker was executed and impaled on a pole.

Pharaoh sent for Joseph at once, and he was quickly brought from the prison. After he shaved and changed his clothes, he went in and stood before Pharaoh. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, I had a dream last night, and no one here can tell me what it means. But I have heard that when you hear about a dream you can interpret it.

It is beyond my power to do this, Joseph replied. But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.

So Pharaoh told Joseph his dream. In my dream, he said, "I was standing on the bank of the Nile River, and I saw seven fat, healthy cows come up out of the river and begin grazing in the marsh grass. But then I saw seven sick-looking cows, scrawny and thin, come up after them. I’ve never seen such sorry-looking animals in all the land of Egypt. These thin, scrawny cows ate the seven fat cows. But afterward you wouldn’t have known it, for they were still as thin and scrawny as before! Then I woke up.

In my dream I also saw seven heads of grain, full and beautiful, growing on a single stalk. Then seven more heads of grain appeared, but these were blighted, shriveled, and withered by the east wind. And the shriveled heads swallowed the seven healthy heads. I told these dreams to the magicians, but no one could tell me what they mean.

Joseph responded, "Both of Pharaoh’s dreams mean the same thing. God is telling Pharaoh in advance what he is about to do. The seven healthy cows and the seven healthy heads of grain both represent seven years of prosperity. The seven thin, scrawny cows that came up later and the seven thin heads of grain, withered by the east wind, represent seven years of famine.

"This will happen just as I have described it, for God has revealed to Pharaoh in advance what he is about to do. The next seven years will be a period of great prosperity throughout the land of Egypt. But afterward there will be seven years of famine so great that all the prosperity will be forgotten in Egypt. Famine will destroy the land. This famine will be so severe that even the memory of the good years will be erased.

As for having two similar dreams, it means that these events have been decreed by God, and he will soon make them happen. Therefore, Pharaoh should find an intelligent and wise man and put him in charge of the entire land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh should appoint supervisors over the land and let them collect one-fifth of all the crops during the seven good years. Have them gather all the food produced in the good years that are just ahead and bring it to Pharaoh’s storehouses. Store it away, and guard it so there will be food in the cities. That way there will be enough to eat when the seven years of famine come to the land of Egypt. Otherwise this famine will destroy the land.

Joseph’s suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his officials. So Pharaoh asked his officials, Can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God? Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are. You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours.

Pharaoh said to Joseph, I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in fine linen clothing and hung a gold chain around his neck. Then he had Joseph ride in the chariot reserved for his second-in-command.
