The Secret Life Of Memories: You Make your Memories, And They Can Be Gentle or Vicious

About this ebook
What is one of the secrets of memories? Are you ready for a shock before even reading the first page? Well, memories are not real; that's it. This may have caught you off guard because we are programmed to believe memories are real things and depict real past events. Memories are not what you think they are. We relate remembering to knowledge, and the more you can remember, the more important and intelligent you are assumed to be.
If memories are not real, what are they? They are constructions. They are creations. They are interpretations you make from each event you experience.
Since memories are not real, can you change them? The short answer is – since you made them, you can change them. If you change a memory, are you changing the past? With that question, we have crossed over into a brave new world for most. Again the short answer is there is no past to change. History is the cornerstone of the illusion and is made of only unreal memories of things that never happen the way you think they did.
Holding on to your negative memories imprisons you in the past, and you can never get free. The solution is to heal your past and to let go of what was never what you thought it was.
Memories are not real, and there is no past. What an exciting time we are going to have.

Introduction:
Adventure through Dialogue
In this adventure, I will, at times, be talking to myself as a way of clarifying my thoughts. It’s like I am sitting down with a cup of tea and chatting with myself, asking and answering questions that occur to me. You might say it’s a form of meditation, and you have decided to join me. So I will be moving between the first-person dialogue (I, us, and we) to the second person (you).
When I use the second person, I will use italics and put the text in brackets so that you will know. This dialogue will view the world differently and create a better world for us individually and as community.
[Fear not, you Miracle Workers, you are at the cutting edge of changing the world, you are at the edge of the quantum world, you are at the edge of the fractal expansion. This is because you support positive changes in the greater part of the mind’s internal structure, which is your Subconscious Mind. You deal with the good, the bad, the ugly, and the not so ugly from the mysterious past. What is the past, and what is history? Only memories. When you use your magic wand—your new understanding—new worlds will come into being, and old ones pass away. How do I know you are a Miracle Worker? You found this book.]
When we work with others or ourselves with joy and understanding, we are that Miracle Worker because we support both them and ourselves in positive change. We are healing as a primary cause and not just moderating the secondary effects. What are we changing and healing? Memories of events that are long gone and will never come back. If we look closely, we will see that all we are is our memories. Events always end, but memories of the events last forever or until they are changed.
Clarity is required here. Memories are not depictions of past events. Memories are creations made from our interpretation of events. As such, memories are never events. This is not splitting hairs, memories of events are different from events, and a point I will make again.
[Since the events are over, gone, and will never come again, is there a need for you or anyone to hang onto negative memories that cause you pain and suffering? No! The real secret is that your memories change all the time without you knowing it anyway.
Recognize that as a healer and a miracle worker, you must be healed. Healing yourself is a necessary part of the process. You are an energy system, and others around you will attune to your energy and frequency, so you being healthy is an important part of their change process. From that understanding, also recognize the importance of continually improving your knowledge, methods, techniques, and skills. That is why you are here with this book in your hand. Set aside what you think you know about memories, and start with a clean slate. You may need to look at things differently, and that is where I come in. It’s not magic.]
I need to make something clear at this point: This is not a Science Book. This is an Idea Book. There are few citations, footnotes, endnotes, or bibliographies. If I make a direct quote, I will note it. If I say something like, In the scientific community, there is a theory …
and then describe it, I will not note that because it will be my interpretation. If you need to know the scientific information, you can look it up. I also use Wikipedia as a source. Wikipedia is not considered to be a reliable source due to its crowdsourced nature. But many times, I find they use more straightforward language and are easy to understand.
There is an old paradigm that states, Biology determines psychology.
This is based on observation. When you were sick or had a disease, you expressed a particular behavior. When you felt happy in your body, you expressed a different behavior. It appeared obvious by observation that how you feel in the body will be reflected in the mind. Therefore, the understanding was that biology—how you felt in the body—determined your psychology or mental state.
So, by observing the physical body with the conscious mind, the conclusion was that the body determines our state of mind. Hence the belief, heal the body, and you heal the mind.
However, this is not true. We now know that the conscious and the subconscious minds operate differently. They have different functions, operate at extremely different speeds, and use different languages. While we understand how the conscious mind operates in most cases, how the subconscious works are unknown and mysterious. We now know that the subconscious mind is significantly bigger in every way in comparison to the conscious mind. The latest understanding is that psychology creates biology. Our mind instructs the body how to respond through electromagnetic and chemical signaling. This is your first insight. The body only responds to the mind’s signaling and is a direct reflection of the mind. By extension, what appears to be an outside world is also a reflection of the mind.
We will be looking at this interconnection between the mind and body from a different point of view. It may seem strange at first, but then, suddenly, it won’t because we will already have heard bits and pieces of this information at different times throughout our life. I will put it together in a fresh new adventure and a novel understanding of the mind and body’s interaction.
This is my fourth book. Through all the books was an underlying thread of the importance of memories. As I thought about it, it seemed that memories needed a separate book. I have re-used some of the diagrams from the other books because they seemed appropriate. This book was also influenced by some workshops I’ve done and small booklets I have put together on memories.
This little book is not about hunting or finding your old faded memories. It is about the underlying theory of the function of memories in creating the life you have and how elusive they can be.
I find memories exciting, a gateway to change, and a creation point for changing our worlds. I invite you to come along as I thread together some old ideas about memories in a different way and have some fun.
