Introduction
Two-color quilts may sound like a simple design concept, but it also opens up many doors for creativity. What do you think of when you think of two-color quilts? It could be two distinct fabrics in a creative design, two different colors on a plain background or lots of different shades of two different colors. The design possibilities are endless.
Think about a basic red and white design. It could be solid red and solid white, but it could also be a wonderful collaboration of red scraps in values from light to dark. Add in scrappy white fabrics for an additional design element and an opportunity to use up a lot of your stash. If red and white doesn’t work for you, try a different combination that fits your personal style—maybe blue and yellow speaks to you.
Our designers used their imaginations and created a wonderful array of quilts with their own interpretations of the concept of a two-color quilt. I hope you use these designs as a springboard for your own creativity. There are lots of possibilities within these different designs.
Enjoy!
