David Surface lives in the Hudson Highlands in a 160-year-old brick house that he shares with his wife, the author Julia Rust.

David is the author of These Things That Walk Behind Me, a collection of short stories published by Lethe Press, Terrible Things, a collection published by Black Shuck Books, and Angel Falls, a paranormal YA mystery novel co-written with Julia Rust. His stories have appeared in Best Horror of the Year, Shadows & Tall Trees, Supernatural Tales, Nightscript, Twisted Book of Shadows, Uncertainties III, Nightmare Abbey, and other publications. He is also author of the Substack newsletter STRANGE LITTLE STORIES.
