it was ok

The strangest thing in this story, our main character decides she wants to learn how to bake, and the first step in this procedure?

Take 40 guesses, you won't get it.

TAKE A SHOWER!

This is kind of like watching an 80s slasher, and if that's what this was, I would get it. It's pretty nonsensical, but, hey, if you want to keep butts in theater seats, you could do a lot worse than coming up with a flimsy pretense to get our female lead in the shower.

But what's weird is that in this book, it's not like her body is described in detail or anything, it's kind of like just the idea of a shower is meant to be arousing.

Which, valid, when I was a much younger man, it would be. But as a "seasoned" gentleman in my middle age, the thought that a fictional woman is nude for a period isn't going to get me there.

It's probably a me problem. Ah, to return to those days when just the realization that sometimes, people are nude, when that would be enough to make me hesitant to stand up during math class...those were heady times.
