Deep learning for time series forecasting: Tutorial and literature survey

Deep learning based forecasting methods have become the methods of choice in many applications of time series prediction or forecasting often outperforming other approaches. Consequently, over the last years, these methods are now ubiquitous in large-scale industrial forecasting applications and have consistently ranked among the best entries in forecasting competitions(e.g.,M4andM5). This practical success has further increased the academic interest to understand and improve deep forecasting methods. In this article we provide an introduction and overview of the field: We present important building blocks for deep forecasting in some depth; using these building blocks, we then survey the breadth of the recent deep forecasting literature.

The position is on-site at our lab, located on the in Pasadena, CA. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience deep diving into fabrication details and electrical test data. Key job responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Data Science Manager to lead the Data Science functions within the Search Relevance org. In this role, you will: - Align with senior leadership and stakeholders on top priorities - Define the team’s vision, strategic roadmap, and ways of working (processes and mechanisms) - Provide technical guidance, hire, and develop your team - Oversee execution of Data Sciene and ML projects - Communicate strategy, progress, and impact to senior leadership A day in the life We do at least one of the following every day. 1 Build models 2 Examine results 3 Write conclusions 4 Present conclusions GOTO 1 About the team Our team is a mix of AS, DS, BIE, and SDEs, focusing on problems in search relevance. We spend our time in building ML models, building metrics and tools to better understand them offline and online, and running experiments. We take care in communicating our results broadly, informing and educating a large variety of stakeholders.
