Absolutely awesome. Had to check when the books were written, because it seems to be vaguely based on the Fallout games lore. Yet it's original enough to not feel like a copy.
The premise is great. If you dystopian and post apocalyptic productions, this is for you.
The cast is absolutely killing it. Everything single character feels right. The acting is almost perfect.
One thing I didn't like is the failed attempt at implementing humor. Some dialogues and scenes clearly try to bring some comedic relief and I absolutely don't understand why. This should be as dark as it gets. This is extremely noticeable in the second part of season 1. I am glad that they toned it down in the second season.

It's a rather good production. Effects work, story works well enough and is engaging. I am hooked that's for sure.
However, if there is one thing that bothers me, then it's Travis Fimmel.
First off, I have to say that I absolutely love him. He brings an intensity that is hard to match. As good as this is, he is extremely one dimensional. We have seen it the warcraft movie and raised by wolves. He basically always is Ragnar Lothbrok and it's extremely distracting. I truly hope that his character gets killed off asap because it's the one thing that, on a subjective level, has a negative impact on this TV series.
I have to praise the casting when it comes to the younger characters. They have done an excellent job there. The actors playing the younger versions of Valya and Tula are extremely well cast. This is on a "dark" level and needs to be praised.
This review is based on the first 4 episodes. It's definitely worth a watch, especially if you haven't seen any recent shows with Travis Fimmel in it.

They did EVERYTHING right with this show.
First off, it's beautiful. The visuals from start to finish are a work of art. Anyone that doesn't feel that way is completely deluded.
Then we have the story. It's perfect and leaves one wondering how they were able to craft such a masterpiece based off a MOBA game, that had almost 0 lore.
What I like most is how incredibly well the characters work. At first glance, someone might think: "Oh no! Another show with strong women lead." However these characters are so well written and their character arc is so flawless, that once you finish the first episode, you will not waste a thought on the characters gender.
Even the nowadays mandatory homosexual relationship works.
Now to the objectively best part of the show: the writing. Not only did they craft an undeniably solid plot but every single character is on point. The pacing feels natural. There is no plot armor and no dummy flashback explaining why something is panning out as it did.
This is now in my top 3 shows of all time, confirming that I don't need TV shows to have 10 seasons. Do it like arcane... Be intense, well written and beautiful. That's all I want.
Also props of course to the voice actors giving life to some of the most complex characters I have had the pleasure to see.
This show is perfect to me. I literally cried over how good it is and that it made me realize that it's still possible to make good entertainment nowadays.
