RAVE is a web-based application that allows UNLV employees to send university news and information to the largest student bodies on campus: freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduates (master and doctoral) and professionals (law and dental).

One weekly message contains news submitted over the previous week and arrives in student inboxes Saturday mornings.

RAVE was developed by the Software Engineering Group within the Office of Information Technology in early 2005 and modified in 2008.

A similar application, SEND (Student E-Newsletters by Department), does the same thing but at the department and college level. SEND allows colleges and departments to collect news for students and to send a weekly e-newsletter. UNLV Today maintained by the Department of Integrated Marketing & Branding, is a daily newsletter sent to UNLV employees and subscribers.
