We’ve just concluded an inspiring and productive Global Leaders Meeting in India, where we came together to celebrate our successes, tackle challenges, and chart the path forward for the next five years. The meeting was filled with moments of connection, collaboration, and introspection—from energizing early morning yoga and dance sessions to deep discussions on how we can evolve our strategies to drive greater global health impact. We reflected on our progress since the 2023 meeting, celebrated the incredible work of PATH teams globally, and explored critical topics such as AI and digital transformation, women’s health, climate change, and strengthening partnerships. These discussions are shaping the roadmap for PATH 2030, ensuring we continue to innovate and lead in addressing the world's most pressing health challenges. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time, insights, and passion to make this meeting a success. The work we do matters, and together, we are building a healthier, more equitable future.

Tuberculosis is not just a physical disease—many patients also experience mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, or stress, often compounded by isolation from their communities. Globally, the prevalence of depression among people with TB is reported to be between 3–6 times higher than that of the general population. In #Myanmar, PATH partners with the Myanmar Health Assistant Association, with funding from Stop TB Partnership, to equip health workers with the tools they need to support TB patients on multiple levels—physically, mentally, and emotionally. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we call upon all TB stakeholders and funding agencies to strengthen their focus on integrating mental health care into TB services. The road to ending TB must be paved with mental health support, compassion, and a people-centered approach. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ednN2xbk #HealthForAll #EndTB

We're excited to see the launch of this handwashing station! 💧 PATH's Living Labs team supported Splash International in evaluating existing handwashing stations in health facilities and schools to understand their challenges. Through co-creation sessions with users in these locations, we explored solutions that could minimize water wastage, provide no contact to avoid contamination, and fit well into the existing systems. After user testing and evaluation, we worked closely with the engineers to redesign prototypes that helped inform the new station. #WASH #HumanCenteredDesign

Last month, PATH and the Association of People with Disabilities of Mozambique (ADEMO) co-hosted a roundtable on community-based rehabilitation of children under 5 with developmental delays and disabilities. More than 20 participants—including disability partners, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action—took part in the meeting in Maputo. The ministries presented the current data on children with developmental delays and disabilities in #Mozambique and described their respective policies and plans to follow up and support these children with the services they need. In turn, ADEMO provided an overview of their model for community-based rehabilitation for the youngest children, gradually built up over the last five years with technical support from PATH, and shared lessons learned from adapting the evidence-based parenting support program, Ubuntu, to rural communities in northern Mozambique. The discussions brought to light the need for closer collaboration between the two ministries to support children with disabilities and ensure that assistive devices and social services are available to families, especially those referred for treatment away from home. Dr. Marina Karagianis, from the Nutrition Department at the Mozambique Ministry of Health, suggested that ADEMO’s experience could be applied by both ministries to expand community-based rehabilitation of young children to other provinces. #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #CommunityBasedRehabilitation #ECR #DisabilityAwareness

Meningitis can be swift and deadly and some bacterial causes can lead to large epidemics—but vaccines can prevent the disease from ever gaining a foothold. PATH has been supporting #meningitis vaccine development for decades. This #WorldMeningitisDay, we’re celebrating all the progress that’s been made in the effort to #DefeatMeningitis by 2030. We have the potential to eliminate bacterial meningitis epidemics from Africa for good with the game-changing MenFive vaccine: https://bit.ly/4dyh09n

For immunization decision-makers in low- and middle-income countries, the opportunity to introduce or switch to a new vaccine comes with many considerations. Is the vaccine needed? What are the benefits? Is there enough capacity in the cold chain system? How much will it cost? We’re happy to share an updated and expanded suite of Vaccine Cost Calculators to help immunization programs make the most of their resources. Our latest addition is a set of redesigned Excel-based tools for countries eligible for support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to compare #rotavirus and #pneumoccoccal vaccination program costs using different products. This is on top of our recently launched calculators specifically for middle-income countries. All Vaccine Cost Calculators are available in English, French, and Spanish.
