Overview
About MDPI Singapore
MDPI Singapore was established in February 2021, as the Asia-Pacific regional centre of the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), a pioneer publisher that focuses on open access journals. Taking advantage of Singapore as the global business and technology hub, the Singapore office will work closely with our offices in China, Tokyo, Seoul and Bangkok to develop further collaboration with the scientific community in the Asia-Pacific area.
Tu Youyou Award
Professor Tu Youyou won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering artemisinin, a key drug in malaria treatment. Artemisinin-based therapies are now standard treatment for malaria worldwide. Recognized with multiple honors, including China's Medal of the Republic, Tu Youyou's work profoundly impacts global health. MDPI established the "Tu Youyou Award" in 2016 to honor her contributions, supporting scholars in natural products and medicinal chemistry.

MDPI Author Training
MDPI Singapore held an author training session at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, on 29 August 2024. The session focused on enhancing an authors' abilities to effectively respond to revisions, craft well-structured manuscripts, and utilize supporting materials, ensuring the submission of high-quality research for publication.

Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP)
Our Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP) is designed to help institutions to manage the transition to the Open Access publishing model. Researchers affiliated with participating universities benefit from a 10% discount on the Article Processing Charges (APC) for any paper published in an MDPI journal, while the institution incurs no fee for participating in the program.
