What does it take to deliver social change for a more equal Britain?

Friday 6 September

In Conversation With Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, who will build on his decades-long experience in public service to make the case for reform and outline his rallying cry for more power to local places and people. In his talk, the Mayor will touch upon key themes such as devolution, public accountability, civic engagement and the role of strong partnerships at the local level to achieve social change and better social outcomes.

Money Talks: Art, Society & Power

9 Aug 2024 to 5 Jan 2025

A major exhibition opening at the Ashmolean Museum will explore the place of money in our world through different artistic lenses. Money Talks will reveal how currency and art come together in design and culture and will feature over 100 objects, including work from artists such as Da Vinci and Rembrandt to Warhol and Banksy. Alongside will be a range of money as well as artwork for currency featuring Kings Edward VIII and Charles III, on display for the first time.
