Boy Wonder CF

Manuel Alejandro Ruiz, known as Boy Wonder, is an influential American record producer and CEO of Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment, Inc. Born on May 17, 1978, in Brooklyn, New York, to a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, Boy Wonder was raised in Queens, where his passion for music took root. He made a significant impact on the reggaeton and Latin urbano scenes with his 2003 project Chosen Few: El Documental, which highlighted the underground reggaeton movement and went multi-platinum, winning a Latin Billboard Award. Over the years, Boy Wonder has continued to shape the genre, producing hits like Don Omar’s "Reggaeton Latino" and collaborating with artists such as J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, and Pitbull. His label, Chosen Few, has been instrumental in launching the careers of artists like Fuego, whose debut album La Musica Del Futuro he produced, and Jon Z, whom he signed in 2016. Boy Wonder’s work extends beyond music production to include documentary projects like Chosen Few II: El Documental (2006), which included the Franco "El Gorilla" and Wisin & Yandel collaboration "Atrévete." This was followed by Chosen Few Urbano: El Journey in 2012 and Chosen Few Urbano RD in 2015. Despite his deep ties to the old-school reggaeton scene, Boy Wonder championed a new wave of urban artists on albums like 2023's Chosen Few: New Generation, which featured Darell, Cosculluela, Noriel, Bryant Myers, and many more. A second volume titled Chosen Few New Generation II - Recharged followed in 2024 with features from Mariah Angeliq, Rauw Alejandro, Myke Towers, Eladio Carrión, Amenazzy, DJ Pereira, and Kevin Roldán.
