李克勤

Cantopop legend Hacken Lee was born Stephen Lee Hak Kan on December 6, 1967, in British Hong Kong. His music career began in 1985 when he was offered a record deal by PolyGram Records after winning a singing contest with a rendition of Alan Tam's "Love in the Fog." He made his debut with a self-titled EP in 1986, followed by the albums Signs of Life (1987), The Summer Tale (1988), and This Place & The Feeling (1989). Even though his first couple of releases failed to make an impact on the competitive Cantopop scene, Hacken Lee still managed to jump to fame as an actor in the youth drama Teenage No More. His popularity peaked in 1992 with the release of the chart-topping single "Red Sun," which helped revitalize his music career and become one of the most celebrated performers in Hong Kong by winning TVB Jade Solid Gold's Golden Award. Despite his newfound success, he was dropped by PolyGram in the late '90s due to the poor commercial performance of his albums. After signing with Universal Music in 1999, Hacken Lee made a comeback on the 2002 TVB drama Legal Entanglement, also lending his voice to the theme song "Loving You Unexpectedly." During the following decades, he continued to release music at a prolific pace, racking up several awards and accolades along the way. In 2013, the title track from his album House of Cards topped the charts in Hong Kong and won the Top 10 Gold Songs Award at the RTHK Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs ceremony.
