DC Breaks

DC Breaks are a London-based drum'n'bass duo whose tight, adventurous production style combines sharp breakbeats and buzzing synth riffs with cinematic influences, occasionally incorporating elements of reggae, pop, rock, Latin music, and other genres. Dan Havers (DJ Samurai) and Chris Page (DJ Kryptic) formed the duo in 2004, basing their name on their first initials. Their debut single, "Que Sera," appeared on Restless Natives, which had also released solo singles by the two producers. Further singles followed on High Lite Recordings and DC Breaks' own eponymous label, and the duo received support from Kenny Ken, Peshay, Andy C., and others. DC Breaks' profile increased with releases on Frequency and Sudden Def. In 2010, Viper released the duo's first EP Halo, which contained the title track -- one of their most popular songs to date. Andy C. signed DC Breaks to his pioneering drum'n'bass label RAM Recordings in 2011, releasing singles "Creeper" and "The More I Want" (featuring R&B singer Rox) that year, followed by the Firez EP in 2012. By this time, the duo had completed official remixes for major-label pop artists including Paloma Faith and the Wanted, increasing their mainstream visibility. Singles continued on RAM, and in 2015, the duo's more pop-oriented, vocal-driven singles, including "Breathe" and "If This Is Love," were co-released by RAM and Virgin EMI.
