Steve Hackett
De Britse gitarist Steve Hackett trad in 1970 toe tot de progressieve rockband Genesis. Hij speelde op acht albums van de groep, maar nam tussendoor, in 1975, ook zijn eerste soloalbum Voyage of the Acolyte op. Twee jaar later verliet hij Genesis en bracht zijn tweede album Please Don’t Touch (1978) uit. In 1986 vormde hij met collega-gitarist Steve Howe de band GTR op, maar trok zich daar weer vrij snel uit terug. In 1997 bracht hij het neoklassieke album A Midsummer Night’s Dream uit, waarop het Royal Philharmonic Orchestra hem begeleidt. Hij bracht in 2012, samen met basgitarist-zanger Chris Squire, onder de naam Squackett, het album A Life Within a Day uit. In hetzelfde jaar verscheen Genesis Revisited II, waarvoor Hackett vroeg materiaal van Genesis bewerkte.
