The Plot In You

The Plot in You, a dynamic and innovative metalcore group from Ohio, spice up their uncompromising sonic attack with elements of alternative rock, electronic, nu-metal, pop, and R&B. Since their emergence in the early 2010s, they have released five full-length studio albums, including the Billboard-charting Could You Watch Your Children Burn, Happiness in Self Destruction, and Dispose. In 2024, the band issued a three-volume set of EPs that produced the mainstream rock hit "Closure." Originally called Vessels, the Plot in You began as the side project of Landon Tewers, formerly of fellow Findlay, Ohio band Before Their Eyes. In 2010, Tewers announced that he was leaving his old band to focus his efforts full-time as the singer of the Plot in You. Recruiting guitarists Anthony Thoma and Josh Childress, bassist Ethan Yoder, and drummer Cole Worden, the group quickly set to work, releasing their Wife Beater EP later that year and signing to Rise Records. The band honed their airtight, breakdown-heavy sound on their full-length debut, 2011's First Born. Guitarist Thoma left the fold shortly after the LP's release. He was replaced by Derrick Seachrist, who made his first recorded appearance on the group's 2013 sophomore outing Could You Watch Your Children Burn, which appeared on multiple Billboard rock charts. The following year saw the band part ways with Rise Records and ink a deal with Attila frontman Chris Fronzak's StaySick Recordings. Their third studio album, Happiness in Self Destruction, arrived the following year and, like its predecessor, made a strong commercial showing. June 2017 saw the Plot in You unveil the single "Feel Nothing," which went viral, earned gold certification, and appeared on their acclaimed fourth full-length offering, 2018's Dispose. 2021's cathartic Swan Song saw the band deliver an emotionally resonant set of songs rooted in themes of mental health, loss, and personal growth. Now operating as a four-piece with Tewers, Childress, Yoder, and drummer Michael Cooper, the Plot in You kicked off 2024 with Vol.1, the first of three EPs -- 2 and 3 arrived a few months later -- that included the modern rock hits "Left Behind, "Closure," and "Don't Look Away."
